I have the HTC Desire HD (ACE), not the Desire, if that makes any difference.

Yup, it obviously makes difference but I was aware of that.
I couldn't find any difference on the file but I think I nailed the problem.
Apparently DHD uses a different code than other devices to mount system in recovery from a flashable ZIP. Can you please try to mount system manually in recovery before flashing the mod?

If it still doesn't work I could probably make a special build for DHD. Let me know.

As I'm not the real dev of this mod, and my programming skills aren't on a level to edit it, I doubt I could do it. But I can give it a try.
I'm gonna check few things and let you know.

Couldn't you ask someone to integrate it in the rom directly so we don't have to flash it every week? Or maybe an auto-update feature?

Buddy..... There are too many roms and mods for too many devices, if you'd like to have it integrated in yours, contact the dev and ask him to do it.

I think you got me wrong...
I can't go around asking 50 devs to put this mod into their rom. It makes more sense that the users of his rom will ask him.
There's nothing they have to do, just take my mod and put it content into their rom. No programming required.
I'm working now in a tutorial so everyone with some cooking knowledge will be able to do it by himself.

I did understand, I went to the forum on XDA and he told me to just flash your zipfile, so thats why I said it's not happening then

Often Every week someone will mod that 4 way reboot menu. Its just a flashable zip.

The Chinese devs where already asked to impement it to the rom, but apparently, the weren't interested.
I thought about making a batch file that will automatically do it for you, but unfortunately the files I edit keep changing every week so it could lead to problems.
Bottom line: It's not such a big deal flashing it every week separately from the rom...

When I have some time i'll look into it. Could you please send me the /system/framework/android.policy.jar from motoDEFY last rom's ZIP (1.5.20)?

From MIUI system updater, it works (from rom manager too). CM devs also reported that this bug was fixed:

Maybe it will work somehow.

Installation:
Flash ZIP from recovery.
Some devices require mounting "system" manually in recovery before flashing the ZIP.
