Hi..
Here my contribution to Miuiandroid
Mod to boost sound quality on our Xiaomi M2 Miui V5

DspManager for Bass boost and Phone speakers volume boost
Viper4android for Earphone volume boost and other feature boost sound quality.

Work together with stock DolbyMobile M2
without break it.

DspManager
1. Download DspManager.zip
2. Extrack it to internal memory
3. Copy DspManager.apk to system/app and set permission rw-r-r
4. Copy and overwrite audio-effects.conf to system/etc set permission rw-r-r
5. Copy libcyanogen-dsp.so to system/lib/SoundFX set permission to rw-r-r
6. Restart

Viper4android XHiFi
1. A) Download from http://vipercn.com/UploadFile/MySoft/Android/ViPER4Android_XHiFi_ICS_2102.zip

B) Viper4android FX
Download from http://vipercn.com/UploadFile/MySoft/Android/ViPER4Android_FX_ICS_2208.zip

Don't forget to posting thanks to him (vipercn.com)
here:
http://vipercn.com/soft-download/viper4android_down/

2. Extrack to internal memory
3. Install ViPER4Android_XHiFi.apk or Viper4android FX.Apk
4. Open application and choose driver for V4A (CortexAX with Neon or CortexA9/15)
5. Restart

You dont need to install all, just choose what you like to use

Different the effect DspManager, Viper4android Xhifi and Viper4android FX:
- DspManager
* Have setting for headset, phone speaker and bluethooth device
* Delivered noise or distortion when applying big bass
* Have better bass and sound compression

- Viper4android Xhifi
* Only have setting for headset and bluethooth device
* have simple setting than Viper4android FX

- Viper4android FX
* Have setting for headset, phone speaker and bluethoot device
* have more complete sound setting

Working :
- Xiaomi M2 Miui V5 and not break stock DolbyMobile
- Sound quality: share its here

Issue :
- FC MusiFX when switch Music Effect on Sound Control, just for first time

For anybody who request for zip installation, I can't make its because permission reason from owners. So please dont mirroring the download file. Thank you

Thanks for posting this! Unfortunately doesn't help a lot.
Volume still is low and after applying bass boost or EQ your get a lot of distortion.

I think we just have to accept that this is the real potential of this phone.

Install V4A, turn off Bass Boost DspManager
then boost volume level using V4A (Max Gain)
I use DspManager just to boost phone speakers volume

More mod to test. I'm already testing other workaround, but how do you feel this mod in general?

:) I have one question .. after installing the sound is more powerful speaker phone?? thanks
I mean no....
Not somehow adjust the speaker volume amplification is weak to me .....:(

Trying adjust DSP like my setting on picture no.3
Also adjust Dolby equalizer for best result.

Hi All,

My Galaxy S2 sounds much louder on headphones on Cyanogenmod, not sure about speakers though. I wasn't able to produce any results after following the above directions. Has anyone else found any success??

BTW, thanks for your efforts satrioogep, but the directions you have given, you have asked to paste audio-effects.conf to system/etc twice. First time for DSP and then for Viper4android. So basically we finally end up using the one for Viper4android. Why are we pasting it twice?

Could anyone please confirm if this helps with the sound output much?

Through headphones I experience the same quality sound experience as I would with an iPod, but when I use AUX output for speakers it has a flat, bass-less sound? As opposed to an iPod for example.

Does this make it dull-hardware or is it ROM related? Unfortunately I don't know further than this.

Yes! I found that V4A works pretty cool as satrioogep posted. I have a good Creative headphones and they always lacked a good bass.
For my experience of course. With little tuning in V4A I get deep but smooth bass in high quality songs like 320kbit or flac Jazz.
I couldn't get that results using stock dolby mobile settings.

Thanks for your response. :)
Did your Creative headphones lack bass with every device you used?

Everything I play out is of 320kbit or above, gonna test it out and see how it goes for me :)

Im not sure if my headphones lacked bass with every device, I think it was also device dependent. Only on Mi2 I could setup equalizer and audo effects to match my needs ;)

Yeah it must be, device output is a game changer for anything projecting it!

Viper really did good for me :) until I accidentally removed the default sms app and reflashed my Rom again (could have just copied the apk, was too soluble at the time) and it removed it!

Was wondering if a flashable zip could be made out of this?

This forum and this mod are for the Xiaomi Mi-2 so it's tested for this device. If the mod is correctly installed and are made too for SIII, then should work, if not you should ask in the original thread hosted by XDA developers.;)

haha. Thx for the answer.

Hi, is it safe to install Viper4Android 2.1.0.1 instead of 2.0.0.5? I only find the most updated version.

Thanks!

Good morning everyone, I tried something different, after installation,
the sound is loud, for I am with volume halfway with severe and pure, and without noise ...

First! follow all installation manual and config our friend put there.
after I did so.

DPS:

volume compression = on
power: exremo,
-----------------------------------------
VIPER
v4a XHIFI-Power = on
plabackagc enable = on
effec = extreme strength
max gain = 10
max output = 0
firequalizer = on
select preset = acustic
audio = on reconstruct
hi clarity = 100 (after I set it, the sound was loud and fine)
it counter = 0 (if you greatly increase this, he can not play the bass, and you notice that it fails)
all the rest at 0 (lower value, higher volume)
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------
Dolbly
put music mode
Severe 100%
Surround 50%
equalizer = blues
its all.
for me it was great! good bass, sound fine and clean!
test and see you guys.
---------------------------------------------------
OBS: I use headphones MDR-ZX300/BQAE

The download link from the OP for viper4android is broken, can anyone provide a working link? Thanks
