new Mi 8 SE

so few days ago i got my mi8se from goldway and i'm impressed with phone


it came with MIUI 10 eu 8.6.28 (beta)

when i run check for new version get this but cannot update to new version?

Is it safe to download new version 8.8.16 to internal storage and flash it from there? So i go to settings->my device->rom version->three dots and there "choose update package" and select it from there?

I think it came with unlocked bootloader

also i dont have twrp but Mi-Recovery

It's quite interesting that is possible have custom rom on stock recovery. Check "fastboot oem device-info" in fastboot mode.
If unlocked flash TWRP for your phone and upgrade to latest xiaomi.eu rom

Goldway know fey triks , mine was the same. Put TWRP and install the latest EU dev. I download it on the PC and copy on phone. Boot on recovery and install the zip.

It automatically check phone and says that my bootloader is unlocked. I will use it to flash TWRP + latest EU dev, just give my link for latest twrp version

Rename file to something like "twrpmi8se" and copy it to ADB folder
In fastboot mode: fastboot flash recovery twrpmi8se.img
When finished
fastboot boot twrpmi8se.img

when you wipe phone and change to miui.eu..

Think about wipe data if the phone is stuck in bootloop

Actually it's one that works.

Yes it's safe and actually it's one that worked for me. With 16.3 version it could not install the modules. Always fail to unzip. But with 16.0 everything works. I did uninstalled it afterwords because I could not get my bank app to work. I do miss some mudules like YouTube with no advertising and Viper4android :-(
