No Video Camera

I am a from the UK, but live in China. Recently purchased the Xiaomi note 4G from China Mobile store.

Very happy with the device, i have however encountered a problem

i cannot for the life for me find any way to record videos..in the camera app all photo options work fine but there is no video recording feature.

However when i enter the phone settings > Camera i see options for video (quality, SD / HD / Full HD) etc.

Can anyone help me out? How do you access the video recording feature?

Have you tried with another application for camera?

Yes, i can confirm the video recording feature works in 3rd party apps such as wechat.

Any idea how to fix this bug without a factory reset?
