Some times when I turn on the screen a miui validation screen shows. This is instead of the pattern unlock like normal.
I tried to login using my miui account details and pressing the validate button but then it keeps loading forever.
While in this screen I can't do anything else anymore, the only option is to push power for a long time to reboot.
I found a couple of the same problems on the internet but they apparently should have been resolved already.
