Hello,

I have a Xiaomi Redmi 1S (or Hongmi, or Red Rice), and I love it!

As soon as I got it, I flashed the Xiaomi.eu ROM from this site, because it is the most up-to-date ROM with my native language.

But I have a doubt: is this ROM pre-rooted?

It seems like it is, but when I use the SuperSU app - or any other like this one - it states that the SU (Super User) binary is not implemented.

I flashed a *zip file - I found on the MIUI official forum that should grant root permision - as an update on Mi Recovery and it still does not work.

How can I get root on my Redmi 1S?

Thank you for your help!
I will be waiting a response.

Best regards.

Don't use supersu.. Go to security - permissions - root - enable

Thank you for your fast reply!

But, I have no such option.

On my Settings I only have the menu "Security & privacy".
And, inside it, I have:
- Screen security;
- Privacy Protection;
- SIM card lock;
- Passwords;
- Device administration;
- Credential storage;
- User Experience.

Already changed to English language, and no "Root" or "Permission" option appears.

Any idea?

I can confirm on the weekly 5.9.10 release the Security -> Permissions screen lists three options:
  • Autostart
  • Permissions
  • Root access
So no 'Root - Enable' option.

There seems to have been development for MIUI V6 and V7 since the reply of ingbrzy,Jan 3, 2015

(I haven't followed the procedure yet, will do so tonight at home and report back)
