Hi there,

I’m not entirely sure I understand the specific issues with the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Could you clarify whether the problems are solely related to notifications and whether they are software-related?

I have the opportunity to purchase one in China, but I’m unsure if unlocking the device would be necessary. In the past, I owned a Xiaomi device that I unlocked and flashed, but I don’t plan to root or unlock my new phones.

Thanks in advance for your help!

i own one, not using it yet daily - waiting for screen/lens protectors and better drop resistant case.

i don't think the notifications are/will be an issue

cpu is top.

but there are other things to consider:

-no boot loader unlock (not sure if you need that), not even paid (as of today). that means no android auto and no eSIM. but you have call recording.

-cameras are rated as poor

90 watt hyper charging is turned off by default (to protect the battery?) and works only when display is off/phone not in use

i HATE the curved display, it creates problems for screen protector (together with under-display finger reader, which is not enough fast and accurate for me) and it has finger touch detection issues on all the edges around the display - very annoying

mister, buy what you want and let us know your feedback

i'm not impressed by x15pro

Hi there! The primary issue with the Xiaomi 15 Pro is probably connected to notifications; China's MIUI can be somewhat combative when it comes to background applications. Instead of unlocking or rooting, you can usually cure it by adjusting battery optimization settings because it's more of a software quirk than a physical issue. Flashing a global ROM might be helpful if one becomes available, but it's by no means required. If the phone is configured properly, there shouldn't be any significant obstacles to overcome.

Personally, avoided buying 15pro due to bootloader lock.
Opted in for 14 Ultra, even though I don't need that good of a camera and I would prefer 15pro slimer design over 14ultra huge camera bulge.
14 ultra today seems like a very good deal. Gets latest updates one of the first (it's flagman afterall).
Other than little better battery life (currently 6.5 SOT), I have no complaints.
