Stuck at TWRP

Pls help
Phone stuck at TWRP splash screen

1. able to go fastboot
2.Tried different twrp...same result

This happened out of nowhere as phone just rebooted and stayed at splash screen

Please any ideas?

Mi 8 on 9.3.28
The phone just rebooted by itself to twrp and just stays at the splash screen.
On normal powering up it goes to twrp screen too.
Power+vol down it goes to fastboot

Did you format data?
WIPE/FORMAT DATA/YES

I said that you need to format data when coming from official encrypted rom to weekly EU ROM.
That's the reason why you are reverted to TWRP at every flash trial.

sorry, misleading you.
I had this issue when playing with encryption.

The first thing I would try to do in such a scenario is reflashing twrp from fastboot and see if it boots into it?

If not, I would check with adb shell if the file system structure is intact and all partition present.

Did you try any of it?

Thanks guys, initially tried flashing in fastboot didn't work. Just tried again with official twrp in fastboot and it boots twrp...hooray!! But now have to flash rom from scratch. All data gone. Again thanks for pitching in.

You have TWRP recovery installed that`s fine.
just download MI8 latest stable rom and install it via TWRP.
And stop posting big attachment, not allowed

Thanks for the reply and info regarding big attachment.

This is the result I have after flash the lastest global stable ROM from MIUI. After flash and reboot, it stuck and the TWRP screen. My guess is I forgot to update the TWRP to latest version.
Now, I unable to install the latest TWRP for revert back to old ROm due to the phone stuck at TWRP screen, and TWRP not loading.

you are in TWRP?
go to wipe/format and format data all with yes as confirmation and reboot to system.
that should work 100%. your data will deleted if any important save them via TWRP explorer.

You mean TWRP does not boot/open?
Try to boot it in fastboot.
Else refresh your phone flashing a Fastboot official rom via MIFLASH and restart installing TWRP.
I don`t see what you did, difficult for me to help you in blind mode.

thanks, manage to boot it in fastboot, flash it with Global ROM, but it come back with error saying it cant be use.
just remember that its china phone, now need to find the China ROM

after i flash the Global ROM, the phone is locked, but phone cant boot due to i flash the wrong ROM, should be CN ROM, cos its china phone.

I tried to unlock the phone with Mi Unlock but failed

now the phone cant boot due to wrong MIUI and unable to unlock to flash CN ROM.

is there anyway i can unlock the phone without go to developer option?

Sorry, this state is EDL. You have to ask unbrick guys to unbrick your phone.

I didn't reloack the bootloader, the bootloader lock itself after I flashed the global ROM.

Maybe I missed some step to maintain the unlock bootloader
