Unlock Bootloader Without Windows

Hi.

All explanations and tutorials to unlock the Redmi Note Bootloader involve propietary Windows-only Software. I only own a MacBook with macOS and Linux (Gentoo). Is there any way to unlock the bootloader without using Xiaomi's Windows-Software? I really don't have access to any Windows box.

Long Story short:
1. For unofficial unlock, fastboot is sufficient, so you can do it from Linux.
2. For official unlock, only Windows tool is there (MiUnlock), so blame Xiaomi
