Xiaomi 11 Ultra - MIUI 12.5.2

@resurgence Your MI 11 Ultra is on Android 11 (Miui 12.5.2) RKACNXM and your intention is to update to Android 12 (Miui 13.0.12.0 SKACNXM = Fastboot install Rom, 13.0.13.0 SKACNXM = TWRP (for A12) install Rom).

So you can update with one of the two methods:
1) With Fastboot Rom using Fastboot mode
2) With TWRP Rom using TWRP for Android 12.

1) is described here:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads...m-for-xiaomi-mi11-pro-ultra.59486/post-669144

2) is described here:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads...m-for-xiaomi-mi11-pro-ultra.59486/post-669198

However, for both possibilities you have to know/check how to start decice into Fastboot mode, because:
1) if you update with Fastboot Rom, which is additional described here:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/howto-install-fastboot-image.64508/

2) if you update with TWRP you must first boot to TWRP for A12 by using the fastboot command:
fastboot boot name-of-twrp.img - to only boot first into TWRP for A12 (without installing it)
(additional information here:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/xiaomi-11-ultra-miui-12-5-2.66256/post-667568)
And here: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/howto-install-recovery-image.66211/
Soon if you have booted temporarily to TWRP for A12 you have two options:
A) flash Rom for A12 and after the update, TWRP for A12 remains permanently.
B) Install TWRP before flashing the Rom to Recovery_Ramdisk, reboot to TWRP and flash the Rom.

@jackyle I wrote a post here:

I updated to A12 with Fastboot Rom in Fastboot mode (which is still download able).
After this update I flashed TWRP for A12 and did the last update with the new TWRP.
dear friend , i dont want to do nothing with the fastboot...little afraid... , i want to upgrade my current twrp to the new one with the old twrp , i saw a video about it but im not sure about it . i already downloaded the desire twrp for my mi 11 pro , but i dont know how to rename it - to which name? (3.6.2_12-Mi11Ultra-Mi11Pro_v3.7_A12-star-skkk_7bb5f333.img) and then , if i understand , i have to put it inside my phone storage with the new name and flash it with my old twrp , in the end im getting the new twrp . did i understand everyone? ... and after all ill have to download the stable eu rom and flash it with the new twrp . correct?

@jackyle So far I know is it not possible to flash the Android 12 TWRP with the old, Android 11 TWRP.

He wasn't able to flash A12 TWRP to Recovery Ramdisk, because this option wasn't available.

So, you can't do it without Fastboot and you must boot first temporarily A12 TWRP in Fastboot mode with the command:
fastboot boot name-of-twrp.img

You can use for example the App from XDA-Developers, called "Minimal ADB and Fastboot". Alternatively you can also use "Tiny ADB and Fastboot" - Install it on your computer.
Check the path of the program folder.
Copy the TWRP for A12 to the main directory of this folder.
Execute "Command here exe" as administrator. (right click, use administrator).
Connect your phone with USB, enable in Developer Options of the phone (by clicking 7 times on the build number).
In Developer option enable USB Debugging.
Accept RSA-Fingerprint on the phone. Let Windows install the drivers. If drivers are not installed correctly, use optional Windows Updates to find the actual driver.
In Terminal window of Minimal ADB and Fastboot type:
adb devices
Hit enter, then type:
adb reboot bootloader
Hit enter, phone should start into Fastboot mode
In Fastboot mode type:
fastboot devices
Hit enter and you should see Model number.
Then type:
fastboot boot twrp.img (if TWRP is renamed to twrp)
Hit enter
Phone should start now into TWRP.
Enter your Homescreen PIN, phone storage will be decrypted by TWRP.
Let the phone USB connected.
Change language from Chinese to your preferred language, how to do you can find here with Screenshots in spoiler:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/switch-from-fastboot-to-recovery-rom.66440/post-665291

Use Install Button, choose Rom zip from internal storage, confirm flashing.
Wait until flashing is successful, wipe only Dalvik (after flashing button on the left side down is shown)
After that use navigation back buttons and go to "Restart" System (do not touch Slot A or B.
Wait until phone is rebooted (don't disconnect USB cable).
Needs a while, don't be angry.
After the Rom is successful updated and rebooted to systém, TWRP for A12 remains permanently.

please ,
im trying to understand , its hard for me because i see in the attacment of "gogo" and it looks like in the end the installing of the new twrp is threw the old twrp , i can see it .
so please confirm me if im doing well these steps - remember , i have mi 11pro stable rom -

This procedure only applies to models with A/B partitions.
Rename the downloaded TWRP to twrp.img - is it correct now the name i gave him - "3.6.2_12-Mi11Ultra-Mi11Pro_v3.7_A12-star-skkk_7bb5f333.img " ?
1. run TWRP using the fastboot command Code: fastboot boot twrp.img - to open cmd and write there " fastboot boot twrp.img" (not to write the full name of the twrp like it shown up ...
2. Insert the downloaded TWRP into the phone - to put it wherever i want , like the "downloads" file?
3. Install - from now on(3 to 7) i can figure that im inside the old twrp and use it to install the new twrp , correct?
4. Install the image
5. Install Recovery Ramdisk
6. reboot to recovery
7. reboot to systém - after finishing these steps i actually reboot into the new twrp and i can install the new eu rom with the android 12 /miui 13 . correct?

after finishing these all , do i have to do any wipe?
after getting the new eu rom , will i be able from now on to update my rom threw my settings?

thnx and please forgive me fornot understanding

Hi
ups..I forgot => I owe now a "MI11 LITE 5G NE" with A/B and current slot is "A" and I hope my Questions and Infos are written to understand by all ?! ( I didn't use english for quite a long time )..
I'm new here but glad to be..because only here I noticed that I had to boot TWRP for one time is only possible with AND11..
so after a lot of effortless tries from guides anywhere else and after seeing the Info here I installed now the Stockrom And 11 with Miui 12.5.xx (via fastboot and PC)..bootet TWRP via "fastboot boot twrp.img" and it worked for the first time! After this and I hope I did it understand right that all I would have to do is after that run the custom rom downloaded from here and this will automaticly fix the TWRP in the recovery and makes it useable from now on as "the recovery"
So I just installed now per bootet TWRP the Custom Rom from here "xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11LE_XM11Lite5GNE_V13.0.3.0.SKOCNXM_v13-12"
After that I reboot the device and now..instead of bootloop the tries before.. it boots.. but always into the Recovery ROM but to my surprise it is no more TWRP but "Orange something".. and I could'nt run the system..
So did I something wrong?
Is it correct that TWRP ist substituted by Orange? and I have to use this as recovery?
But how can I get torun teh device now?
Or do I have to do the steps with recovery ram and so on .
Last Q ..I wanted to root the device too..via Magisk in TWRP (or if necessary per Orange ..as long as it works I'm fine with it)..so do I have to do this after installing the custom rom? or before? or it doesn't matter or better do it per App?
Sorry for the bunge of words..and if I oversaw an solution somewhere here or din't use the right Thread please excuse me..I finally wanted to get over with it

@Nur-Ich
Hi..
thanks for your help, but that was exactly the way I did..I saw this guide of you and followed
but after I finished and rebooted the devices I was in a loop ORANGE (recovery) ..then I wrote my post here
after that I put again the stockrom on it and tried to follow before installation of eu.rom the fix of twrp like go to advanced ..ramdisk and so on but then the eu.rom broke up shortly after start the installation ..i think it was about failure to decrypt a partition..i tried this a few times but ended always there..
So I decided to give the "Orange Version" a final try.. I did again the way you wrote and got into orange thereafter..I found out that I had to hangup the system partition..and got finally through back to a running system with your eu.rom.. ..I think Orange will be ok for me but I will first look how I could make a system backup and after a short glance i found no way to install a zip out of it..
I was just wondering why and how TWRP turned into orange..and if this is the correct result.
Thx NI

Not really, the script does the same thing, it only boots the recovery, the inject thing is not necessary as you are installing the Rom anyways, ..

Boot -> flash -> reboot / format data ( if first install/ changing branch).

Easy as pie.

Sent from my Mi 11 Ultra.

This is the way.

Works perfectly.
