Recently, Xiaomi has made an important change regarding the ability to unlock the bootloader of devices bought on Mainland China.

I asked my friend who has a Taobao account and he was told both the 15&15pro can be unlocked through TeamViewer and quoted overb1000rmb / about $140USD which is an insane amount.
I'm travelling to China next month and hopping to pick up a 15pro, hopefully we will find out whether we could flash hyperos 2.0 from here to the cn models.

Dang! He asked multiple sellers and this was the cheapest, maybe I should edit my original post to remove the amount? I don't want ncunlock to match the price here

Basically it's impossible to unlock unless you are Chinese.
I got the chance to unlock when I travel back to China, and spent $70 for unlocking.
FYI: The official way requires you and account holder to be in the exact same province in China, otherwise account will be banned.
Native Chinese and Mi user here. Currently unlocking is extremely difficult but still possible. It requires a hightly active miui forum account binding with the device and pass a difficult mini exam on a desinated time with Mandarin. I would say $70 is a good deal since Chinese user would probably pay that amount under such circumstances

I check the second hand platform and currently the price is around 75$ since every active account can and can only unlock several devices. And yes, the service requires face-to-face or phone delivery

Contacted NCunlock few days ago, they don't know if unlocking will be working on 15 pro, they have to test first... Would like to buy the 15pro but have to wait...
