Hi, I am trying to root my Xiaomi A2 Lite device. I've read that in order for me to unlock my bootloader I need to add the device and phone number to my account via the developer options. That option is not there, and I've read that I would need to install a developer ROM in order to see that option.

I went to Xiaomi site: http://en.miui.com/download-354.html but there is only the full ROM option, no developer ROM. Does this mean that I can't unlock the bootloader of this device?

Can someone please help me to understand if I am doing the right things to unlock the bootloader? Final goal is to root the device.

Thanks,

Fabio

There's no miui on the mi a2 lite.
Just use this fastboot command "fastboot oem unlock"
Then Flash twrp and magisk for root.
Succes!

Yes this device unlocked in mins so hope to repair imei on this device without hassle (with old method) seems miui has some limitations to protect efs and imei backup for repairing imei on redmi 6 pro
