Xiaomi Hongmi TD + WCDMA CWM+ROOT Guide

I have tried 2 Options:
1) Mobileuncle Tool: Into Recovery Mode
2) Power Button + Lower Volume Key > Recovery Mode

However, I have now installed CPU-Z and the Resolution is only 540 x 960
That not enough and indicates that I might have a fake HongMi :-(

Install antutu and see what it says but for what you say I'm 99% it's a fake, regret to tell you that m8

hi there, having trouble with streaming services on the hongmi - wcdma, stable v5.Pandora and youtube specifically are not working on mobile network, but work fine with wifi. the song/video will load, but never starts playing. internet otherwise works fine - e.g. web browsing and facebook are working fine. Any ideas?

I followed this procedure and it worked fine.
But when I want to make a call my screen goes black and I can't stop the call or do anything.
I need to pull the battery and start up again.

everytime if i try this way or if i try to push the cwm recovery with SP Flash Tool on the Device it ends with pixel failures and an automatic reboot back to the ROM.

once you have tried to install CWM via MobileUncle and vroot its also impossible to flash back the stock recovery.

if you start the recovery it will look like this :

Solution : take TWRP Recovery ..that works.

Update a fake hongmi is not possible, it has been mentioned here many times. Try to return phone to the seller and get your money back.

Try to get you money back, this is what you should worry about and then buy a real red rice in a proper shop. By my experience I advise antelife, but there's many others

I receive my new ORIGINAL Hongmi WCDMA

Rooted , multilang and playstore installed and I try to install the most recent stable rom (miuiandroid_multi_HM2013023_WCDMA_JHBCNAL5.0_jb-4.2) the following way :

1.Install MobileUncle apk
2.Install CWM Recovery recovery.img ( English CWM version 5.5.0.4 no touch)
3. Boot to CWM , Wipe Data/factory reset , Wipe cache partition, Wipe Dalvik cashe , Install zip from sdcard
4. Select zip from internal SD
Start
- Installing: /sdcard/ miuiandroid_multi_HM2013023_WCDMA_JHBCNAL5.0_jb-4.2.zip
Finding update package…
Opening update package….
Installing update…
Installation aborted.

and finish in 2 or 3 seconds (Also tried with or without signature verification).
Did I miss something? Is it possible to update this phone and how?

Steps sound fine. After trying to install did you look at the log in CWM? There is an entry like Show log.
Was the zip file valid? Try to open the zip to see if it is valid.

On my PC I can open the zip file and seems OK. The CWM log says:

init.svc.adbd=resterting
sys.usb.state=mass_storage.adb

I:Checking for extendcommand....
I:Skipping executionof extendcommand. file not found....

You did everything well it should have worked just fine.
Try installing an older version to see what happens

These logs are fine, just I for information, no real errors.
It looks that you have the phone connected via USB during this.
I normally have my phone disconnected from PC during installation but I am not sure if this helps.
Did you check the logs directly after trying to install?

I try to install "miuiandroid_multi_HM2013023_WCDMA_JHBCNAH4.0_jb-4.2" with the same results.
By the way, is it normal to have photos I taken in the internal memory after wipe data/factory reset ?

Yes, because the photos are stored on the SD card, not internally.

I have only one more idea:
Others were successful with TWRP recovery, check earlier in this thread.

I try TWRP just now but the result is the same. No install.

This would also be my last guess before setting up from scratch with FlashTool.
Please post some screenshots from MobileUncle tools -> Device Info

IMEI and S/N on phone on screen and box is the same
Also the scratch sticker verified as original on http://chaxun.xiaomi.com (photo no5)
