I'm with miui 2.3.23 on SGS2. When i try to install newest miui mod pack, it says

E:Error in /sdcard/MIUI_2.3.23_MODs_signed.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.

Same was with 2.3.9 mod. I have tryed toggle signature verification and script asserts and i have mounted sdcard manually - nothing. Allways same error.

Newest MIUI 2.3.23 mod pack for all devices.

Restore pack (in case of any problems).

Does this include MIUIv4? You might want to mention that it doesnt, cause i doubt it does...

Did you MOUNT system?

If I did not mention that these modifications act under MIUI v4 in that case, they apparently do not work. In such a case so hard to guess that is not yet fully functional mods to v4? Why this demanding attitude? You do not want, do not use.

Andre, problems with flashing may result from the old version of clockworkmode. The script is written for the latest busybox. Try to upgrade the CWM or manually upload the files through adb or Root Explorer.

Here you go a package without "assert" command. You should be able now flash it also on older CWM version, but be sure that system partition is mounted (cm means compatibility mode, ICS transitions is also removed from this version, if you need it just copy framewor-res.apk into framework folder from previous package to this new one.)

LINK

If someone have problems with auto brightness or signal bar icon, than flash this version instead of previous one. That package is fully tested with Samsungs phones (including ICS transitions) but there may be an compatibility problems with framework-res.apk on other phones. I cannot prepare the package for every phone, use UOT Kitchen in this case. or:

If you want your "framework-res.apk" for your phone, which includes ICS windows transition mod than you can go to the MIUIpolska website (http://miuipolska.pl/download/) and download (spolszczenie) for your phone. Pull out framework-res.apk from downloaded .zip and put it in a package with modifications, and then install it via CWM.

I asked a question and made a suggestion. Neither, is the English language is considered a demand and neither was asked or suggested with attitude, there for in no way was there a demanding attitude.

An example of a demand would be : "Make the mod for MIUIv4..."

Your pack breaks radio and automatic brightness on Desire Z.

Just read carefully my post above your entry... and flash this one after flashing rom, or flash Restore pack and right away (still in CWM) this mod (unfortunately, without ICS window transitions due to lack of framework-res.apk which causing your problems.)

I asked a question and made a suggestion.

Well, ok, maybe I just misunderstood your "doubts". It does not matter.

To Andy or Kunon.
I found out a post on xda to fix the clear notification slide out. Since on this mod it is really hard to clear notifications by sliding out. Let's do the following simple change
slide_out_left_basic.xml and slide_out_right_basic.xml inside res/anim folder
[*] for slide_out_left_basic.xml, edit the file and fill with this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<translate android:duration="@android:integer/config_mediumAnimTime" android:fromXDelta="0.0" android:toXDelta="-100.0%p" LET'S CHANGE THIS VALUE TO "-50.0%p"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" />
[/CODE]
[*] for slide_out_right_basic.xml, edit the file and fill with this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<translate android:duration="@android:integer/config_mediumAnimTime" android:fromXDelta="0.0" android:toXDelta="100.0%p" SAME HERE TO "50.0%p"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" />

That will fix that. I already tried it and it works very good

Thanks cowsquad for the suggestion. Works just like you said (half-width slide shift). Here you go a modified package of mods. LINK

If you find some interesting modifications to implement, let me know. Recently I have no time to follow the forum.

Hi,
It's probably because of a faulty theme, not the flashed mod. Try to use a different theme set (or at least change the home part of already used theme) and check if error still persist.

Yep, you are correct. Theme I was using was indeed causing the problem. Thanks for the great tip.

Hey kunon, why don't you try to make the Extended Settings mod for MIUI ICS too? Maybe Andy is too busy with his own things and will never do it for ICS? :( Hope I'm wrong.
Anyway, it's too difficult for you?
Just asking mate :)...

Many thanks Kunon

hey guys, in the index site linked to in the first page i have found and ICS folder that contains 2 file, one apk and another zip, do those files represent the Extended Setting Mod for ICS or they are something else?

It's hard to say, is it too hard for me to make. I haven't even try. Why? Because I don't use any of ICS ports. I prefer stable builds. I remember the time, when I jumped from Eclair to Froyo and later to Gingerbread. There always been problems with new versions. Things which worked flawlessly in previous builds, now creates problems. I want to avoid this now.

I don't have as much time as I would like to have to sit in front of my computer and wonder why something doesn't work as it should. That's why, I can't create and analyze mods for ICS, which I can't even check on my phone.

Btw, it's Andy mod and he has a priority to prepare it whenever (if ever) he likes. ;) Ask him, beg him, donate... pay for his devoted time if You so desperately need this modyfications, or try to make it yourself. It's not so hard as it's look. All You need is knowledge and time. :)

greetings

On Andy's page this two files is for ICS Galaxy S but not MIUI works only on THS Builds.Andy now work hard to MIUI V4 for Galaxy S and i'm sure if its possible to make ExtendedSettings for V4 he will do it.

I've been having a terrible time trying to install the Extended Settings Mod. I tried several different rom versions and compatible extended settings mod. Each time I flash all the way back to 2.1 stock with Odin + Master clear then boot to recovery, wipe data/factory reset, and flash the rom. Then upon first boot, I 3 button to recovery and flash the appropriate extended settings mod zip.

Each time, and I've tried several times flashing it, both just flashing it and mounting system and data, I'll boot up and have the clock centered but the icon for MIUI Control Panel is nowhere to be found on the homescreen. I've tried both Overscroll and NoOverscroll versions.

Can anyone please help me :(

Where can I get miuicontrol.apk? I've searched through the .zips for different extended settings mod versions and can't seem the find it.

Just for reference, I've tried: 2.3.2, 2.2.10, 2.1.13, 1.12.9, 1.10.21.

Edit: Is it the file on andy's website named: miuisettings.apk ?

Edit 2: Wow..that worked. I wasted hours and could've just installed the stupid apk separately.

Thanks for your help cowsquad. I feel like an idiot lol.

There are no changes in the modified files in 2.3.30 MIUI [GB] 2.3.7 version.

However, I prepared an update anyway. It contains new modification (disable scrollcache function, which makes scrolling much smoother). The rest of modifications remained unchanged (Extended Setting including MIUI Control Panel; modified Launcher; SpareParts; overscroll; volume+, T9 dialer search, ICS-like notifications slide-off, and maybe others, which I even don't remember now. ICS transitions animation was removed due to incompatibility problems with certain of phones.)

possible errors description (CWM flashing)
  • If someone has problem while flashing through CWM (code 0) then You need to override the 'update-binary' file (located in META-INF\com\google\android\ directory of this package) with this file unpacked from CWM package dedicated for Your phone (ex. newest rom package for your model).
  • Error 7 means unmounted system partition, mount it manually.

2.3.30 [GB] mods compilation

MOD_2.3.30_GB

MOD_2.3.30_GB - restore pack (in case of bootloop etc. flash this file via CWM to restore original system parts)

This is probably my last update of mods for MIUI. I hope You liked it.
