2.9.21

Hey Guys,

I have been a user of the GB builds of MIUI on my Nexus One. I have been trying out MIUI JB on my maguro every other week. Just flashed 2.9.21 for maguro. It definitely looks like an improvement over 2.9.7 but I'm stilling missing some of the MIUI features that I regularly use. For 2.9.21,

  • Lockscreen lag continues. On switching on the device, you first see the homescreen wallpaper for a moment before the unlocking slider appears
  • Full-fledged customisation options don't seem to have been added yet? LED notifications, for example, are not customisable yet (which was a feature already present on my N1's MIUI). There also used to be a Themes personalisation section in MIUI's setting where you could click on Edit theme and make changes to individual elements of the Theme. Is this feature hidden somewhere or is it perhaps on a waitlist for future additions?
  • The icons looks really big. So do the buttons on the dialpad. Can this be easily remedied without editing build.prop? I'm not sure if we are allowed to make comparisons with miui.us but they seem to have switched between higher and lower DPIs over the last two releases. I was wondering if increasing the DPI was something that was being considered to bring down the humongous icon sizes.
  • I've been prompted for Xiaomi account registration on startup. This is new and was never mandatory earlier. If there are others who don't want an account with Xiaomi, just pick the email registration option for new users and simply don't go through with the verification.
Those were some of my observations and problems that I faced guys. Any thoughts, solutions or additional information is greatly appreciated.

*Lockscreen is getting better last two releases
*theme moduling is working its pretty obvious button for it when you get in any theme
*my icons are fine...
*the xiaomi account can be skipped. There is hidden button in the centre of the bottom of the prompt screen

Yeah Lockscreen is kinda laggy but is better now that past 2 weeks. Also Theming specially on message (Mms.apk) the Text box color background neveer change, when I type my message on a theme that has to have white text and supposedly black/grey text box, that makes the white text unable to read on white background.

Where's "Note" ???
if it still under development and testing, can you please advise with another good customized ROM to be used till your final release ?

pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase :)

What's the problem? Install TWRP recovery and just install all at once:
Full rom + multilang + custom kernel.

MIUI will never put any custom kernel, ever. You should know it already...

And yes. It's custom.

Wysłane z mojego Nexus S

you have to do a boot first before installing any kernel -.-'

if you don't it will not boot

p.s. the only reason i asked for a differed kernel is the fact that the google's one caused me 2 soft resets that means that it didn't reboot and log files didn't generate in order to report it but you can see it in battery history they are the arias where the power drops to 0 and back up to the normal charge and since i have no log files i can't report it

Hey guys, I did a full wipe date and cache. I can't seem to pass the "activating" portion. I click English/set up wifi and then asks for Xiaomi account which I can't clearly make. Is anyone else having this problem?

Ask Samsung. SGS3 has different device name instead of GT-i9300.
And I mean build.prop device name.

Hi, works great on Maguro!
The only thing is that the rom keeps asking to send CyanogenMod Statistics.
Even when i save the setting that it can send it.
The question keeps comming back, annoying.
Did a full wipe, but keeps asking...
Even when i say, don't send and save that, i see from time to time: Statics send in the statusbar?
