why you need icon in statusbar..? its for NFC payment only...

To know it's on or off. Nfc being ON all the time, will consume battery. Anyway.. in any decent rom or manufacturer, when NFC is OK... the NFC icon is there, in the taskbar.

Well.. Never had NFC icon in statusbar for Mi3 and Mi5...

~Tapatalk Mi5~

NFC icon was visible on the ROM that came with the phone
at least on my mi5

That's why I asked, I had it in china ****** 7.2.8.0.0.0.0 bloat rom... but I dont have it in xiaomi.eu rom. Feels strange. :)

I think gps.conf still not working on cancro (Mi4), can't lock GPS for waze. Yet, I have to replace with 6.3.31 gps.conf

Can anybody tell me when will be fixed the failure with wrong caller ID?
When somebody who saved in my contacts calling me or if i call somebody from my contacts the phone show me:
1) only number without name
2)or name without photo

P.s. all contacts are saved with correct format (+7) and they are from google.
My phone Xiaomi Mi5 and another one Xiaomi RN3

Timely release much props for that. Dirty flashing went well and running. Stellar job as usual team xiaomi.eu!

For me it is nice to have the Gapps
I am aware that some prefer having Google Applications installed on their devices, and that is their choice, however it would be nice to have the option to not install them like with other ROMs.
For example, with cyanogenmod you install CM and then the GApps .zip file.

If this is not going to happen, I would at least request a optional .zip file that removes all the google applications that are part of the ROM. (So that one would flash a MIUI update and then the no-gapps.zip so that one would be able the keep the Android OS + MIUI applications updated without having Google Apps reinstalled every time.

OK I understand you. Here we have the minimum of applications and everything is very simple. Other ROMs are full of Google applications. Cyanogen ROM is good, but I do not like to download the ROM, the Gapps, is a long process. Then it is complicated if you do not know Smartphone, PC, and a bit of technology. As my brother I bought the phone, installed the ROM eu, I do not know if it makes updates, understand? not all are able to do this! However I understand your question. Hello :D

You can install Miui China Dev and remove all chinese crap by yourself...

When you create a VOIP-Account (Phone>Settings>VoIP), it can't be deleted or changed. When you choose "remove account", there is a display "removing account" but it is not removed...
There's no point in doing all this in the first place. SIP-based VoIP in MIUI has been broken since time immemorial, and Xiaomi have shown no intention of fixing it, especially now that they're peddling their own proprietary "MIUI VoIP." What's more annoying is that dialer integration is also broken. Unless something changed recently and I missed it?

Man, do not SPAM here. Check MiPad 2 section - solution is waiting for you there.

Say, is it possible to get these ROMs without GApps installed please?

Here's an Edify script snippet that completely removes the preloaded GApps from Xiaomi.eu ROM on a Note Pro (leo). Feel free to adapt to your needs and reuse it to make your own update.zip:
Code:
# Google Apps
delete("/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.camera2.xml");
delete("/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.dialer.support.xml");
#delete("/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.maps.xml"); # Careful! Also present in stock
delete("/system/etc/permissions/com.google.android.media.effects.xml");
delete("/system/etc/permissions/com.google.widevine.software.drm.xml");
delete("/system/etc/preferred-apps/google.xml");
delete("/system/etc/preferred-apps/");
delete("/system/etc/sysconfig/google.xml");
delete("/system/etc/sysconfig/google_build.xml");
delete("/system/etc/sysconfig/");
delete("/system/framework/com.google.android.camera2.jar");
delete("/system/framework/com.google.android.dialer.support.jar");
#delete("/system/framework/com.google.android.maps.jar"); # Careful! Also present in stock
delete("/system/framework/com.google.android.media.effects.jar");
delete("/system/framework/com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar");
#delete_recursive("/system/app/CloudPrint2/"); # Careful! Additional settings FC on ROMs after 6.4.7
delete_recursive("/system/app/GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter/");
delete_recursive("/system/app/GoogleContactsSyncAdapter/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/GoogleBackupTransport/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/GoogleFeedback/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/GoogleLoginService/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/GoogleOneTimeInitializer/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/GooglePartnerSetup/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/GoogleServicesFramework/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/Phonesky/");
delete_recursive("/system/priv-app/PrebuiltGmsCore/");
The two files commented out are also present on stock China ROMs, so I'd keep them unless you're planning to install another version of GApps. Removing CloudPrint will cause the Additional settings to force-close on recent ROMs. If you really want to get rid of it, you can replace Settings.apk from 6.4.7.

As an aside, in my view the developers have made the right decision to include GApps by default.

I know it is not launches but iam wondering since in other countries it is now 10/5/2016 therefore iam asking

yes and the first releases will be bug free like always ! Better to test on a spare device first but for sure miui8 launch means no more MIUI7 fixes ...
