Thanks for this great update miui 8 for redmi 2 2014813, much better than miui 7 was.
Only problem I have is that I don't know how to disable this new feature that pressing the "volume down" button 2 times when the screen is off launches the camera and I don't want this feature.
Does anyone know how to turn it off?

I have issues with memory management I believe.

WhatsApp and Telegram is delayed in receiving messages, only when I manually opened them.

I have even locked these apps in memory but when i checked under Settings -> Running apps they seemed to have been killed during sleep.

Running latest ROM in Mi 3.

Installed miui 8 on my mi note pro. Wiped Cache and dalvik cache (data & system not). So far themes FC, calculator and wallpapers. Galery won't load pictures. They are all black. For the moment everything elese is working ok. Battery drain is a little bit faster than in miui 7, but brightness is fixed and mobile runs much faster and smooter.
I turned on second space, and now i can't turn it off. Notification is floating and it won't move
If batery continue draining i will return to 6.5.26.

Grrrrrrrr......
So i wiped data,cache,dalvik and even System.

Flashed the rom wiped cache and dalvik got IT al Running on v8,spend 4 hrs recovering data and powercycled my phone.

And IT came Back in to The bootloop aggain.
So i Have wasted The last 24hrs in getting this crap to work.
I'm really dissapointed to say The least.

Not sure what else i can try.
For now Back to v7

AM i The only one with this bootloop bullshit?

I think in few days will be released "Xiaomi Calculator miui8 beta", calculator with features as calling, sending texts, browsing and alot of other incredible thing. Crazy gadget.

Nope. Tried everything, all resulting in bootloop.

Rolled back to Miui7 4.4 happily because of superior battery.

To turn off second page notification, go to second page,
(If needed finish second page setup), enter Manage on main screen of second page, turn off Second page icon, under "other settings".
You can also delete second page data in same settings.
Go back to first page and you'll not have second notification icon.

That's like when xiaomi didn't bother with nfc in RN2 , they said it wasn't worth it - got rid of mi remote because there is nothing worth watching on tv !

I partially agree, at least 75% of tv programs are crap. But there's something worth watching.
And besides, sometimes we just need to lower/raise the volume, the phone comes handy

Can you try and flash 5.1 MIUI7 first, and then flash 5.1 MIUI8

4.4 (MIUI7) -> 5.1 (MIUI7)
5.1 (MIUI7) -> 5.1 (MIUI8)

Let us know if that works.
