I bought mi 5c and there is rom 8.2.6.0 (MCJMIDI). Is it an original rom, because it has a lot of bugs?

Hi Josipa, Did you install a ROM from here? if yes can you please guide me to the correct one as well and the instructions as to how one can install it on the Mi5C. As I currently have the MCJMIDI 8.2.6 and is very buggy. Also can you please let me know how is the phone working with your new ROM?

Would like to install a more latest one. Thanks and your help would be much appreciated.

You have fake rom, you must to flash china dev rom first, unlock bootloader, install twrp, then install eu rom, but let's go, this is your first xiaomi and where are you from?

Am from the UK, ordered it on Bangood.com and came with that ROM(MCJMIDI). I have noticed that it doesn't have 'United Kingdom' for the region setting and its causing issues with when I want to keep the 'Automatic Datetime' setting on. Hence I wish to either get an update for this ROM or switch to a more stabler or less buggy ROM.

But as you say, do I first need to flash China Dev ROM and then get an EU ROM? I think the device is unlocked, the the Mi Unlock status says it is unlocked. Does this mean the bootloader is unlocked too?

Thanks for the reply.

Bootloader is unlocked, this rom for another phone, full of bags, the region always changed in the China, the time was shattered, the sound at the conversation was horrible, the battery was quickly emptied ...
I am the first flesh china dev rom so wiping all these bags and then rom, you are as hard or as true as me, I think it is the safest way.
This eu rom works in Chinese, there is no big difference except for a lot of Chinese applications in China and there are no such ones (app store etc.)
Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks again. Just one question, does the EU ROM has play-store pre-installed or do we have to install G-apps separately?

They have, you must first install ADB and fastboot driver, MiFlash 2017.4.25.0, fastboot rom 7.8.31, link and follow the instructions on ,
Good luck, if it does not go, ask...

Thanks Again Josipa. I will try this out and let know. Is this the Chinese stable ROM? If I need an EU ROM can I install one from here on top of the Chinese ROM?

The top is dev rom, and the bottom is stable, top install.
Let's go this way, this should clean the phone and you have the android 7 on it as well as the new miui 9, China stable rom is on miui8.
When you do this, then I'll explain to you how to put an eu rom.

Hi Josipa, I haven't yet done it, as I was sidelined the whole of last week. Just wanted to ask you one thing before I go about doing it. Once I install the new ROM, will I ever be able to revert to this old ROM should anything go wrong? I mean is the old ROM backed-up anywhere if I have to ever switch for any reasons.

You can go back to the old rom, but I do not recommend that the rom is fake and the phone is not working well, it can cause permanent damage to the phone, I will help you if it is protected.
Just an example, the battery lasted on fake rom for only one day, now it lasts for over two days.
You do not have to be afraid, everything is done easily and your phone will work normally.

Hi Josipa, Sorry to bother you again. I have downloaded the ROM and Mi-Flash tool. But had a query again, when I flash the ROM you have suggested, namely the China DEV ROM, wil it have Google play installed? Or do I have to install Google play and google play services? Also will it have support for Polish language? Sorry for the questions, am just a bit afraid I might screw up something. Thanks again.

By installing china dev rom you can only solve the fake rom, it's an official rom and you will clean the phone, that ROM has only Chinese and English, and there are no google apps.
After that I will explain to you how to put the eu rom.
Flashing china rom is just a part of the procedure that gives the security of the phone unlocked.
I went through this process and everything worked fine, and you can reschedule and go through another procedure, for this I'm sure it works.

Thanks Again Josipa, Can you then please tell me what would I need to do next after installing the China ROM? As I would like to do everything around the same time. To be honest, its my wife's phone and she needs it for everyday work, so would be better if I can install the EU ROM around the same time.

It's not a lot of work, it can be done all in half an hour, you need to install TWRP, wipe data, and install the eu rom.
First of all you need to install drivers for the phone, adb and fastboot.

Thanks. Are these drivers installed while installing the MIFlash tool? Cause when I was installing it did give me a prompt about some drivers.

I installed xiaomi.eu rom directly without installing china rom first. Works fine for me.

Thanks Xyrcon. Is everything working in order? Network reception, wifi, bluetooth, camera, etc? And if so, can you please guide me how did you do it? I just wish to get rid of this buggy ROM.

I had to set mode 5 to make 4g work. *#*#1#*#* TEL_Assistant ->Telephony -> Radio Access Tec -> 5 Mode -> Save, then restart phone after.
No problems with bluetooth or connectivity after.

Quick description of how i did it.
Prerequisites: Minimal ADB and fastboot
Xiaomi tool installed (for drivers)

1. Install twrp from fastboot:
boot phone with volume down + power.
Copy twrp into minimal adb and fastboot folder
Open command window and go inside minimal adb and fastboot folder
Inside command type:
Fastboot flash bootloader twrp.img (change twrp.img to name of twrp image you downloaded)
2. Boot into twrp with the following command:
Fastboot boot twrp.img
2a. If touchscreen won't work in twrp, press volume down + power, twrp will reboot and touch works.
3. Inside of twrp format data + system + dalvik + cache + internal storage. Wipe -> Advanced wipe -> Select all
4. After format you have to reboot into recovery to make twrp work properly again, you can do this from twrp menu
5. Inside of twrp again click mount -> Enable MTP
6. Connect phone to computer and copy rom to phone
7. In twrp click "install" and select rom
8. After install reboot phone. First boot will take a while, be patient.
9. Set mode 5, do another reboot and enjoy xiaomi.eu rom :)
