Hello, Mi 8 is problem.
I install this update as ordinary but after reboot it not starts and after reboot into recovery... what do i need to do to fix this problem?

i install this update via recovery mode without any additional changes and now it just starting and not start to home screen, only blinking dot and "MI" word on display

Try with full wipe in recovery

Hello, I have a problem. Telegram and WhatsApp notification doesn't work - sound and pop-up. I installed ROM via twrp and then factory reset . Xiaomi mi8 global version, previous version of firmware is 8.8.30

ok, i take "wipe" and slide to do it without additional changes (without the checkbox) and now try one more time to install this update

Or do i need wipe all my data (all checkbox?)?

I've installed the rom correctly, but sometimes I have this "don't cover the sensor area" message (obviusly I'm not covering the sensor). Anyone else with this issue?

Mi8 does not notify in icon with number, if it has not left the Chinese base that base is?

My Mi 8 got stuck after updating to this ROM. For the people who have the same problem and don't want to lose their data I have an solution.

SOLUTION (takes 5 minutes):

1. Download MIUI EU 8.8.30 on your PC.
2. Put it on your Mi 8 via USB connection to your pc, or put it on an USB-C.
3. Install the downloaded ROM via TWRP.
4. It will boot into the system but if you put in your password it won't past the lock screen. Don't worry, we are going to fix this .
5. Reboot into TWRP and go to: Advanced -> File Manager -> data -> system
6. Search for 2 files in the folder with the extension .key and delete them.
7. Search for all files in the folder with the name locksettings.db and delete them
8. Reboot and you are in your phone

I don't know if this is the best solution but it works and you can use your phone normally.

I've updated my mi8 to Android P with a clean install without problems, but I've seen that when using other launchers like Nova or Poco, when going to the home menu there is a graphical bug where the default Xiaomi Launcher and the Launcher set as default will try to load at the same time (it's only graphical, in terms of functionality only the Launcher set as default will react to the touchscreen)

This happened to me in Mix 2S version. Just rebooting solved the issue. Seems like it doesn't happen if default launcher is not running.

It happened to me in the first boot, set nova as default launcher, reboot and it was fixed. I have a mi mix 2s.

Read the whole thread - some have described in detail how to do the upgrade to Android 9, just read it an follow.....

Nice timing.
I get this Thursday a company phone (Nokia 7 plus) and my MI4C will retire.
Thanks for weekly ROMs for almost 3 years.

Just flashed on my Mi8. Everything working amazingly. Much smoother than 8.1 and notification bar higher than notch issue is fixed.
If anyone has any question I'll sure try to help.
