Same for my Mi9.. Can't go back to 9.4.18. The Phone was encrypted. I don't know why.
In the file "fstab.qcom" is the entry "fileencryption=ice" .

So, looks like mix3, mi9 and mi9se are encrypted by system
You could change it back to "encryptionable=ice", format data and pull changed file back, may be will work

When the new ROM what?
1. Always read the the changelog and the first comment before asking.

9.4.26 here on lui mi mix 2s cam very smooth and very nice antutu score ( 302 481 ) ans batery life , thanks for the rom !

Install all over again. So, algorithm is as follows if encryption is not needed:
- TWRP
- Wipe > Format data
- Reboot > Recovery
- Install > ROM
- Reboot > Recovery
- Advanced > RM Forceencrypt > Remove Forceencrypt
- Wipe > Format data
- Reboot > System
Did you read the first post? China beta rom will be released on 9/5, so xiaomi.eu will be released on 10/5.

why you wants to disable encryption..? TWRP will decrypt it after setting of lockscreen password..

Mi Max 3, rom miui.eu 9.4.18 weekly.
I can't use the Waze navigator ver. 4.50.1.1, it stays on "GPS signal search in progress". No problem with Mi Fit and Google MAPS, the location syncs immediately.
What can it depend on?

since the last build, my photos are always rotated.
if I do a photo in landscape mode, it is shown rotated. (portrait orientation)
after a reboot it is right for about a few hours/one day... then the photos are rotated again.

Today it was updated from Mi Store, MiHome (not Mi Home), the launcher app and I lost the previous grid settings I had and the option to change it! Must reflash the ROM I think...

If it is EU stabke ROM it's OK, but flashing official stable leads to encryption.
What is not clarified yet is the TWRP (latest version) behavior versus encryption they are supposed to handle without need to play with Fstab.
Can we now encrypt with settings/privacy feature, that was inoperative before.
It seems that on the MI9 encryption is automatic and is never linked to the pin password as it should be in this case.
Expert needed!

It work with magisk 19.1 but updating to 9.5.1 I had to do a format data and clean install because magisk module installed before kept the phone in blocking by restarting it each power on!

On my mi9 se, Trwp askme the password and if I Digit my phone pin it work .
It's encrypted but with my pwd I can Easy decrypt and flash update.. is it right?!
