Hey there,

I'm on 9.5.30 (Mi8) and I'm experiencing the issue, that I'm unable to paste copied text (Bitwarden) into the password field of any App where I have to put in my credentials to. Any other field (Login, Optional, simple text, etc.) works. Is anyone experiencing a similiar issue? Since I'm using Bitwarden as my Password Management tool and generated non-guessable passphrases, it becomes a pain in the a**, if copy & paste isn't working as usual. Any other version (pre 9.5.30) of Xiaomi.eu works .

Thank you in advance.

So after updating to the latest Beta (9.7.18) and downgrading to the latest Stable, I'm back on 9.6.27 and I'm still unable to paste copied text into password fields on any version I've installed. Any help on this issue is heavly appreciated.

same issue here on latest 9.7.25 - is there any solution to this? I found people are having this issue in MIUI since 2013!!

Hey there,

do you experience this issue since updating to 9.7.25? This "effect" came all of a sudden on my device and not immediately after updating to 9.5.30.

I always do a clean flash, never dirty flash. I never had this issue before on any miui rom untill now. And solution is nowhere to be found.

I have tested all beta roms available for my device (Mi9T) and I have problem on all of them. Stable releases works fine. I have tried everything I could think of.
Different recovery, Different google account. Not using PIN, password, face unlock. Not logging to google account, not logging to MIUI account... nothing works... still unable to paste any text into password fields... it drives me crazy must say

I found the exact code that blocks all editing actions (Copy, Cut and also Paste) when a password field is detected, which means this behavior was intentional.
However, while it's obvious why Copy and Cut are blocked, it definitely makes no sense why a user wouldn't be allowed to Paste.
I'll make sure that restriction is removed for next release. Here's a sneak-peak:
