persist partition got thanosed

Yes, but you wiped persist partition using an unofficial twrp in the first place.
No, I'm having this problem too... Persist partition gets wiped, and /data gets corrupted/inaccessible... Happens with daily using, when using whatsapp, gallery, instagram, etc...
Made a clean flash with mi flash, but did not solved my issues, I'm starting to think my hardware is defective.
Format my phone once a week is not an option, so I'll be replacing it...

The persist partition usually gets corrupted when accidentally wiped using unofficial twrp. But as you experience these problems when using the phone this is not normal. If you can replace it.

I know, and I think none here in this topic wiped it accidentally. It happens the same thing: the system starts to lag, freezes and then, persist is gone

I got this only once. Other times bootloop and /persist error when tried to flash something in twrp.
Need to flash persist, format data and flash rom

Persist partition is responsible for sensors, wifi, Bluetooth, etc. What exact error did you get in twrp?

I don't remember the exact error, but something like failed to mount /persist
The only time I've managed to successfully boot the system, all sensors were not working, only after reflash persist.img
Tried xiaomi.eu rom, havoc and syberia, all the same after 1 week. (I'm only flashing the rom and magisk)

Could be some hardware fault. Sorry.

yesterday my mi 8 froze and went into bootloop.
apparently the persist partition somehow got deleted.
i cant do anything about it in fastboot, but also the partition doesnt restore if i flash fastboot roms (ive tried the latest global beta and china developer on downmi but no response)
what can be done to fix this mf partition?
Did u find a solution? im having the same issue .. haiz

I got rid of my Mi8. Got on a point that was completely unreliable, sometimes it worked fine for almost 2 months, and one time i needed to format 3 times in one day. It was sad because it was a very good phone overall, but could not maintain a phone that can get me in trouble

But it was a while that persist partition failed on me. The /data partition was giving me headaches almost all the times, and one time my recovery broke and had to recover using mi flash

Is not a software fault, is some defective hardware. Tried with many roms, stock included
But most of the people having this issue have used custom rom/recovery. I am a global beta tester. Never faced thiss issue. Using Mi 8 for about 1 year. As global beta stopped and stable update takes a long time to come, I wanted to flash eu weekly. But seeing these problems, i stepped back.
