Switching from stable to weekly requires data wiping right?
Yeah, but we unlocked the feature after 21.10.20 was released (last Weekly for that device before Xiaomi suspended them for Android 12 testing), so we've decided to re-release the last Stable with the feature unlocked, just wait for the reupload.

That's great. Thank you for the information.

I see the latest stable with Boost Charge enabled is up as TWRP file, but my undestanding is Mix 4 TWRP can't read/write over 3.5GB. Can you explain how I can get this stable installed in that case or will there be a fastboot version? Is that possible? Any help to get this stable installed greatly appreciated.

I installed this version via twrp with no problem. Boost charging option is present - I will test it today.

Thanks, I was reading the forum for Mix 4 TWRP and people seemed to be having inssues transferring the large files. Would you mind briefly explaining how you transferred the file for me please? Or did you just keep it in data and not format?

I just download it to my phone and not wipe. When twrp starts it asking for password. I typed my screen PIN and it worked, then install normally.

Thank you, so downloading it on the phone and not formatting prior to flashing is the solution to the issue I saw it seems.

One more question, can i install it directly over the China MIUI that came on the phone without wiping to keep it in data?

TWRP can't read ZIPs of exactly 4 GiB or larger (also known as ZIP64), not 3.5 GB.

Is wiping and formatting not the same thing? I'm wondering can I do nothing before flashing it, or is it it a necessity?
there is a difference if you delete files on pc (wipe) or if you format your harddisk. this is the same on phone…

Ok well what I was trying to understand was whether I could download the rom in the phone prior to flashing so I didn't have to transfer from PC. But looks like I can't do that. Thanks for clarifying.
