HI, I am very new here. I have the 21.4.28/29 installed and I would like to update it through OTA (the phone keeps bugging me that there is a new update). Can I do just that, or do I need to install the ROM through TWRP and what not again? I am using TWRP 3.40 by mauronofrio

If I need to update through TWRP, can I do so using the TWRP that I have now?

If no, how do I update my TWRP? I did it last year and forgot how to do it now

I have the bootloader unlocked
1. Download TWRP image _for your model_ on your phone
2. Reboot to TWRP
3. Select install
4. Select image button
5. Pick your twrp image
6. Partition: Recovery
7. Flash
8. Reboot

When i try to send to Chromecast a video from YouTube vanced I receive an error with Google play services need to be updated. Mi9T. Anyone?
I'm using "Non-root" Youtube Vanced (16.16.38) with Vanced microG (0.2.18.210500) and no issue at all. :)

This rom updates automatically from the phone, i'm asking if in the future there will be Weekly ROMs for this device?
It's up-to Xiaomi to release same device as POCO X3 Pro but rebranded for China market. Then there will be Weekly ROMs for POCO X3 Pro. ;)

Thank you, so I would need to do it through the TWRP afterall. That is fine. The method you shared is called a "dirty flash" is it? I won't lose data and all?

I don't need need to wipe the cache etc.?

@hibbo's steps are for updating your TWRP, not the ROM. :)

After you installed the latest TWRP version for your device, you can install the ROM in TWRP and reboot your device (= "dirty flash"). No need to wipe anything and you won't lose your data.

;)

Ah noted, that's why it is installed into the RECOVERY

So I went to the first post and there are links to the RAPHAEL/Mi9TPro TWRPs: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=318260

I currently use this: twrp-3.4.0-10-raphael-mauronofrio.img

Should I update it all the way to this: OrangeFox-raphael-stable@R11.1.zip

It doesnt say "TWRP" though. Also, why do I need to update the TWRP? I updated form the previous STABLE MiUI12 to the 2nd latest weekly build using the 3.4 Mauronofrio

Same issue here , seems that only some old releases working with casting now , like 15.33.34 as you can read here ..

If you can cast a video from YouTube vanced to Smart tv ( in my case Mi TV 4S ) maybe the problem will be somewhere else , maybe region i don't know ..
Updated play services on TV , still no luck with casting , just asking to update Google play services but nothing to be updated ..

Jesus .. you're one arrogant POS. No one is obligated to give you anything or any kind of help. Learn some proper manners and do some research before attempting to do operations on your device that will definitely brick it. I think flashing ROMs might be above your IQ level. Better get someone more intelligent to do it for you.
Thats why we are having 20+ sites about TWRP...because developers are using same and same instruction.

You can think what you want, i dont give a f...i am just saying, what is the problem, believe it or not.

My wireless charging randomly stopped after the last weekly update.. was fine before, now it just constantly starts and stops..

That looks not SW issue. Did you try to repalce to another wireless charging devices?

You can install OrangeFox instead of TWRP if you want, OrangeFox is a good-looking custom recovery variant. :)

The OrangeFox installation is different => You have to install the zip file in your current TWRP to install it, that's all. ;)

EDIT: A new OrangeFox version is available on Official Website, R11.1_1 => https://orangefox.download/release/60a119cce805649489f06b2a
Hey thanks for the pointer! But I think ill just use the official ones as pointed our earlier. One question tho, why is updating the TWRP important? Why couldn't I install the new roms using the the TWRP 3.40.10 version from Mauronofrio that I already have installed?

Another sidenote, I updated from the previous stable version and this weekly version seems laggy, which I think is abnormal. Anything I could do to fix that? When I last updated the rom from the stable to weekly, I did the full wipe, using the 3.42 TWRP by Mauronofrio

Hello! Please tell me why on this version and on all that android 11 it takes so long to open applications and phone settings? Is it really impossible to fix this in half a year, or is it in android 11? On version 20.9.17 it is much faster !!!! every time I come back !!! #tucana

I don't have such a problem on a Mi 11.

Hello, you can force apps to stay in memory (RAM), open Recents menu => Hold on app you want (like "Settings") and tap on the "lockpad" button. It should help but I think it's a bad RAM management... :(

Since 12.6, YouTube Widget in Notification section it is like a permanent notification and can't blow it away.... :-(

== About invisible/unswipable "Media" notification issue (Spotify, Tidal, Youtube Music, Bandcamp, etc.) ==

It's a known Official bug added by Xiaomi in 21.4.28 and sadly not fixed in the latest beta version... :(

Current workaround (requires Magisk/root) is:

1) Download and open "Termux" app (available on Google Play Store), type:
su

2) Grant root permissions then type:
settings put secure qs_media_resumption 0

3) Type exit two times to quit Termux.

4) Done! :)

;)

And if I don't have root/magisk? :-(
