No. MiRecovery or Miflash?
You resize the partitions?Sorry bad english.Thanks.
For you the MiRecovery is better choice because you are not sure you will keep the MIUIv6-5.0 with merged partitions. For me the MiFlash is better choice because I know I want to keep merged partitions forever.

Once you get merged partitions using MiFlash then you cannot go back to MIUI6-KK or MIUIv5 easily!
So, first try it and if you decided to keep it you can still use MiFlash and get merged partitions IMO.
The merged partitions is only advantage for users who suffering from small data partitions.

Anyway you can find attached the modified flash_all.bat file (just in case) if someone want to get back the original (not merged) partitions on Mi2/S. You just have to change the original flash_all.bat file to the modified flash_all.bat file (attached) in the ROM fastboot package and flash the ROM with MiFlash using fastboot script flash_all.bat.

Hi, I am new here so don't know if this is the correct thread, but I am in 5.4.24. Quite often I get a bug when I get a text notification. I press it and the text message is empty, I have to back out and enter again to be able to read it.

Quick question: assuming one flashes a stable V6 firmware, will future stable xiaomi.eu updates be available to him/her over OTA? It would be awesome to have this functionality, even if it is slow. Didn't have it on the Redmi 1/1S etc MIUI5 firmwares...

I tried with MiFlash using this "flash_all.bat" modified and I got the error about the partition table.... not working :(

Please I want to go back to old partitionning and install Mokee 4.4.4. :/

Data usage restriction is not working in 5.5.8. Even after app is restricted to use data but still they are consuming data. It was working well in official dev version but here its not..

Hope there should be some workaround.

I asked this question several times and still got no clear answer. Hope to get a clear answer for a newbie this time ;-)

I read the following before install from my v6 special edition 5.3.27 to the latest lollipop version:

For first installation of Mi2S v6 Android 5.0
- You have to be on latest 4.12.5 MIUIv5 or 5.3.27 MIUIv6 Special Edition
- Then install our multilang via Updater app like usually
- Wipe all user data in recovery or via settings highly recommended!

When I wipe all user data (so all my personal info and all apps are gone), is it possible to restore my personal info (accounts) and all apps with the restore option within Miui ?
Before install I will backup everything with the build in option within Miui, but am I able to restore all these info and apps after the install to v6 5.0?
I have a lot of apps installed and several accounts and I wish to update to v6 5.0 but not to install all the apps again and create all my accounts again.

Pardon me if this has been asked before.

For the last few updates (last was 5.3.27, I only update occasionally rather than every week), I've been changing the fonts in my Mi4 by drag-n-dropping to the /system/fonts directory of the zip before flashing. I found that to be a quicker way than changing one by one with font-changer apps, as flashing font packs never seem to work.

A few weeks ago my phone just crashed for unknown reasons and stuck on boot screen, I had to recover it with the Mi Flash Tool and went with the official stable for a while. Today I dl-ed the Multilang 5.5.8 and do the font modification I mentioned before. After flashing it (with Updater) I found that the font is still the original font, even after I double checked that it's not the wrong file. Then I tried changing the font with Font Installer app, but after reboot there's no change. Out of curiosity I even tried downgrading to the font-modded 5.3.27 that used to work, but it still can't change fonts.

I know it's been quite long since they stopped allowing third party font themes, but does anyone know whether there's something recently done by MIUI that prevents font-changing, even via the system folder? Any pointers to successful non-official font-changing methods would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for stable ROM now.

Quick question for Acid or Ingbrzy

Will the stable ROM's receive OTA when there is a new stable update, just like the dev ROM's?

Please answer.

I don't understand why such a simple question haven't been answered but let me help you out: Yes, you can still restore from your built-in backup after the wipe. The wipe formats your /data partition, but your internal sd card, where the backup will be located, will remain intact. I hope this helped other ppl as well.
PS: Still, because you are going from kitkat to lollipop, i don't know if the backup will be compatible. You should verify that
