Can I upgrade it from Mi Recovery? Do I need to Wipe & Reset?

Yes, sometime resolve, I know, but it's annoing ******* problem. Every time I install new rom I need to remember reinstall gmail? And the problem can recur again....

If I'm not mistaken TWRP is included in all the ROM, you'll find it anyway

No need to wipe/reset, if you want to install this update you need to flash before TWRP.

I just found a small bug that is apparently being drawn from previous versions. For the other one (chinese) you downloaded from xiaomi.eu, change the language (look "Langue" red in the screenshot)
You can also change the language in the settings ("small earth" just after the vibration icon)
