well i did not experienced that double boot problem, if it were a problem before, I think my Max did'nt do that.
but it had android.system failing. compared to the previous builds that do the double boot thing. it worked well.
still investigating what happened. tho.

What problem did you encounter ? I updated my Mi Max 64 GB, haven't encountered any problem yet.

I guess it was a faulty zip file. so i had to re-download the ROM. this time it worked.

MI4 LTE I edit , all ok for now , my fault, now on when you have a 10 % of battery the led turns on and before was 20 % LOL . sorry

mm in my case the 2 last weekly rom , having less than 20% the LED does not warn me , only when charge it turns on with color, in the stable every normal

When you passed from stable to dev did you wipe data?

in the twrp , yes and when the installation is finished, I make a restoration of my installed programs

Also in the 6.9.1 i received this error.
After restart the device works and in info i can see the new version.

Wipe internal storage after flash new ROM or use USB-OTG
