Hi all, I put the question here but it is related to 7.8.17.
After installing this version on my MI4c, connecting the phone to pc via USB, just only the charging mode is running, it is non possible to transfer files from pc to device.

Hey guys,
First of all, thanks so much for the great efforts on preparing these great release. I'm facing two issues since the beginning of miui9.
1- Root instruction doesn't work for me. I used both majisk and supersu to root in twrp mode, it goes to fastboot mode, where I have to reflash another rom.
2- accessing contact details is deadly slow when using search contacts, say above 5 minutes after tapping on a name (found by search) the numbers appear.

The device is Mi 5c. Thanks in advance.

very very strange, mate....

when you connect your phone to a PC via USB, you should see a notification that show something like "phone connected in charge battery mode".

is it?
if yes, PRESS that notify and a new menu will appear on the lower part on the screen.
In this menu, you can switch the connection mode between "charge battery only" + "MTP file transfer" + "PTP photos transfer".
To have full access via PC to you internal memory, select the second "MTP file transfer" and you will see the internal memory in Windows "system explorer"

can not confirm this problem usb notification pops up and can be changed from charge only to data transfer with Win 10

It maybe related to windows fast startup settings. You may try power options-change plan settings-change advanced settings-usb settings-(disable) usb selective suspend settings. Then restart your pc

I have been waiting to unlock bootloader for 5 days now.. I received permission on Monday, but i still cannot unlock. its says now couldnt unlock after 2 hours of trying unlock...its come down from 72 hours... what do i do..i really really really want to use this rom...

This is sucks. I heard the feature it not missing just not available from three pinch. It's on the smart assist which is not in the EU rom.

bug or missing feature... three pinch or not three pinch... remains the fact that ACTUALLY the main screen is only the one we put on left position

Same. I solved it, follow these steps:
-Disable usb debug mode at developer options
-Unplug usb, and try to another usb port of pc
