read post 2I have this error "updater process ended with error 7" in twrp.
How can I solve?
yesWill I get OTA update on stable rom?
Here are the needed files for Mi5 only from global beta 8.1.18 for notification fix: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RrUC5j2Nlq93E21bd-sGgX-Va9XkqOOp
Steps (no root needed):
1. Download and copy all these files to phone internal storage
2. Reboot to TWRP recovery
3. Mount > tick "System" and untick "Mount system partition reed only"
4. Go to Advanced > File manager: copy all files one by one and overwrite existing ones on below access path:
/system/framework/framework.jar
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/priv-app/DownloadProvider/DownloadProvider.apk
/system/priv-app/DownloadProviderUi/DownloadProviderUi.apk
/system/priv-app/MiuiSystemUI/MiuiSystemUI.apk
5. Reboot to System
I only tested on Mi5, so on Mi5 it works 100%.Same method but didnt work on note4x mido , couldnt boot. Maybe i try to compile rom with new files.

Anyway did you try it with files from mido global beta 8.1.18? Just because the files what I shared is only for Mi5

Another point.
If I try to edit notification options in gmail app, the application crashes. Anyone with this issue?
Anyone Can help?On mi6 I always have a notification "mobile data has run out"...on both sim i can't use mobile data...
What Can i do?
Yes i downloaded global beta 8.1.18 for mido , extracted rom with tool and copied the files mentoined. I don't know why doesn't boot. Now i try to copy files from global to xiaomi.eu rom and compile with tool , and flash zip with twrp.
Just tried replacing these files with global rom version, 1st reboot it seems to be a bootloop, after waiting for sometime, I press power to reboot and it booted to system and now I have New Notification style from Global rom..
Maybe it wasn't a boot loop, just longer boot?
I'm on Mi Max 2 btw.
Good to hear, did you do anything different ?
I deodexed these files, no idea if it's the reason but seems that @graw2 didn't deodexed the files (guessing from his posts), will try tomorrow without deodex these files.
Did you try press the power button to reboot when it seems like a bootloop? It could be the 1st reboot take longer time..
very appreciated. Maybe for the very popular mido? Thank you...
Maybe if I have some free time tomorrow, I can make flashable zip for other devices (after I'm sure there is no problem with my phone)
No problem with FasterGPS on my rooted RN3 Pro...App FasterGPS doesnt work. I open it and the app shows only black screen without possibility to give root permissions.
How to use this app or to set GPS settings?
Thanks i'll do that!Try to install this one, it is working better on my MI5!

Edit :
just restore back these files to xiaomi.eu and 1st reboot took much longer than usual, so it seems that everytime we replace these files 1st reboot took much longer..
Edited again :
Just flashed these file from Global rom again, and reboot took 5 minutes (usually reboot took less than 1 minutes), so it's confirmed that 1st reboot after changing these files took much longer.
