I wonder when this terrible bug will finally be fixed. It plagues MIUI 10 from day 1, and there was not a single ROM since then in which it worked.
Hopefully the next update will fix this.

Yes, the situation is that when you open the camera of miui I do not get the option of the portrait mode, if it comes out in the front camera but I am not very fond of selfies, you could help in that, thanks team excellent work

after weeks of waiting, I did upgrade today to the Android-P Rom

Dirty Flash from 8.8.30 to 8.10.18 without wiping data/format data,
everything works as it should. so dirty flash without wiping seems to
be working now. (oreo to pie)

First boot takes a little bit, but that's normal, second reboot as fast as it should.

But still the most know and annyoing problem with the notifications.

Hi there,

I tried to do the same, also coming from 8.8.30 on MI 8, but didnt work;
The phone cannot boot on system and will reboot on TWRP.

I have installed the latest TWRP (yours) and cleaned cache / dalvik.

I am reverting to 8.8.30 (thx god I was able to revert).
I guess full format is still necessary, how did you manage ?

what I did:

- local backup and copied it to my PC (for security if something goes wrong)
- copied the 8.10.18 zip to the internal memory
- put the phone in flightmode (I dont know why I did it) ;)
- started the updater, choosed the 8.10.18.zip and ok
- waited... done.
- happy that I did not have to wipe/format anything

How to change this transparent menu to it's previous look? It was ok in 8.10.11. (note4 mido).

If you are in the mood, try it again, but do a local backup first.

I dont know why, but since I had the the Mi5/6/8 and there was a problem,
I did a local backup and then the most of problems were gone... I dont know
what the backup do, but it fixes magically some problems.

same with my brothers Note5 it had a problem with twrp encryption and an other problem,
so I told him he should do a local backup and try again... and.... it worked !

I know it sounds stupid... but it may help

Right now I am on holliday. Internet speed is quite slow over here. Has nothing to do with the download servers. But ...
I managed to download and have just completed the installation on my Redmi Note4x (Mido).
Again my thanks and compliments to the EU team. Just hoping that you are not discouraged by all the complaints.
Very happy with this ROM.
So, thanks again and we will see next week.
If only Xiaomi would provider Android 8 or 9 for Mido. Just wishfull thinking

Hi,

I'm relatively new in flashing custom rom. So i did try to flash my Mi8 but accidentally wiped all data in the internal memory which includes Rom file.
So i had to sideload the Rom file via ADB. Everything went well, however when i see in file managers, all the folders are gone and only the folders in picture remain.

Is there anyway that i can do clean install of the rom again?

Are you changing Android version....
Read the first and second post in this thread.
I changed MIUI 9 to 10, but kept the same Android version. No problem at all.

Thanks for the info. I was waiting for a version to update from Oreo without deleting everything.

Although the bug with notifications makes me doubt, but I think I'll take the step.

Update: Bootloop and return to TWRP (3.2.3-918). I have tried to update it twice, without luck :( I go back to v8.8.30
