Not quickly, because just now official start close beta for Mi5 on 8.0 China Miui. Its take a long time before release public developer and after that stable rom.

The support for bands is hardware related, it has nothing to do with the software/ROM.
You need the global version of the phone itself, not the global ROM.

Have now unlocked the bootloader in my (wife's?) new Mi Note 2, formated data and wiped everything, and flashed the last android 7 weekly 8.3.26.

The TWRP referenced from here is Psymans TWRP, by the way - same md5 hash. Worked fine.

Everything seems to work, did a Mi Mover from my Mi Mix1 that only brought over half my apps and settings.

No problems with the ROM I think, I'm just not used to the Note 2 - the screen and home button I find, well - peculiar.
Oh, and the back camera does not work well with the camera2.api - posted about that in the Note 2 thread.

I'll let this settle down and consider the Android 8 in a day or two.

Try doing a factory reset perhaps? I had weird crashes on my Mi Note 2 with the weather app. Performed a factory reset and now it works fine.
