Latest stable for mi mix 2 has a complete Chinese themes app. I flashed from previous weekly to latest stable, formatted data and cleared caches.

Is there something I did wrong or is the app not translated?

I tried setting the phone language to US english and to dutch to no avail.

Update: System region is set to chinese and there are no other options. strange.

Update 2: applied region fix and was able to change region. Themes app fixed.

Massive battery drain on Mi5s with this version. Also, device is hot almost all the time.
Done the installation twice, every time with Factory reset. Huge difference between this and the previous. Something is hogging the CPU.

Just wanted to report that after 4 days I have had no issues with this on my Mi6 it works quite well. I even have Google Play working after installing the new Magisck app. Thanks for all the work guys.

Thank you for this tip. I just flashed the fix through TWRP on my ido and it fairly worked - although it is not rooted.
But it doesn't keep Germany in memory - after a reboot it is set to Poland. Well, but this is better than China
