Isn't that exactly his concern?

Twrp is secured by password once encryption is enabled, isn't it?

I've mixed feelings about that too...

Concern is all about people having TWRP and NO encryption. Some 95% of the people here.
Because eu rom doesn't allow to naturally encrypt, (setting/privacy/encrypt) except you have tripped fstab or a good twrp like the one for MI9.

Is there type-c headphone support for mi pad 4 plus?
/ Also I've noticed that when using pixel charger my mi pad 4 plus charges at 20watts, is there now qc3.0 or something?

Is there any way to have notifications on lockscreen. Right now to check what notification i have i need to unlock phone. I set all apps and setting to show messages on lockscreen but still nothing. Is this MIUI future, bug or i am doing something wrong

Why is the unencrypted internal memory so important to you and what are the benefits?

Hey pittrich67,

not unencrypted is that important in my question - the complete oposite is what should be achieved. (also to follow android security guidelines)
Devices should be encrypted by default.

This is also the case if you use the original Xiaomi global ROMs - storage is encrypted by default.

I noticed on some devices (mi 8, mi 6 at the moment) aren't encrypted after installing xiaomi.eu ROM

For my mix 3 it was OK (I had encryption after installing the ROM)

For my mi 6 and mi 8 I replace edited fstab.qcom (responsible for encryption) with my own zip every time I update xiaomi.eu ROM

Mi Mix 2

1) Fingerprints: Couldn't add fingerprint, try again

I tried to remove all added previously fingerprints and add them again.
But I still get this error message. Tried to reinstall ROM - no results.

2) Camera: sometimes autofocus can't get a focus.
During these process it starts make buzzing sounds and tremble.

1)for me helped changing selinux mode to permissive (then reboot) then try again to add a fingerprint
2)don't think xiaomi.eu team responsible for camera (don't think they changed something there, so you should ask to fix it official MIUI developers team)

I can confirm - there seems to be some devices that are encrypted and some does'nt.

I do use the same manual/script replaced fstab for my Mi MIX2 - but that's nothing to expect from technically inexperienced people in the regular weekly updates.

The thing is that if encryption is enabled by default and the twrp can't handle it you can't flash anything on the phone and see your internal storage. There are many versions of twrp just for one device and some of them support encryption some don't, so it's more convenient for the devs to just disable it. The main problem on the forum is that people can't flash the eu rom when they are moving from stock because of encryption and they have to format data to remove it.

Hi,
I had same problem with "Ok Google" on my Mi Mix 2s...
If you have viper4android (magisk version), try to deactivate it, reboot and try "OK Google"
For me it make "OK Google" working again

edit:
if it works when viper is deactivated, uninstall viper and reinstall it

edit2:
it seems deactivate and reactivate viper4android is not the problem....
when i charge my phone OK Google works like a charm but when not in charge OK Google doesn't work...

The new TWRP for Mi6 supports encryption and it works fine, the only issue now is the fstab.qcom file that is set to no encryption, and if your device is encrypted, it will be stuck at boot until you replace with a modified fstab file.
I think devices should be encrypted, like all new ones require, I sure hope Devs will make this change and notify us that it is the new standard...
It will save changing the file each time ..
