New Encrypted files got unreadable (Private folder)

Hello guys,

I have a problem with the files I secured within the filemanager of my phone.
First things first, I own a Note 10 Plus with XIAOMI EU ROM (MIUI Version 13). I got this phone with MIUI version 11. Then, a year ago I put some important files (mostly fotos and videos) into the private folder. Now somehow the encryption corrupted all of these files. I was able to decrypt them, but they stay unreadable. (I did several software updates in between, maybe that's the problem?)

Has anyone an Idea why this is happening and if I can restore these files?
I'd be glad if someone could help me, I'm really freaking out loosing these files.
