From Xiaomi.eu to Global Stable

I currently have Mix 2 in operation with Xiaomi.eu weekly rom. Because of big problems with Android Auto I would like to install the original Global Stable. Unfortunately I get nothing installed. Via Mi Flash I can install the Fastboot rom, but it stays at 100% bar and the counter continues counting forever (I waited for hours). If I then pull it off, Xiaomi.eu will start Rome as usual. Via the XiaoMiTool (1 and 2) it recognizes the device, starts the fast boot and gets stuck there. Does anyone have an idea? The device is unlocked, TWRP is installed and USB debugging is enabled.

Are you sure you are using the latest mi flash version? https://xiaomiflashtool.com/
Maybe you can try EDL mode... I'm not sure.

I had MiFlash 17.04.25 but with 2018.11.15.0 the same problem. Is it possible to flash Global Stable with TWRP?

Oh, you're right
If you clean install xiaomi.eu STABLE rom? https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603895199 (you can use twrp)

But xiaomi.eu stable is also china rom based, so I think I would have the same problems with Android Auto.

Flash Orange Fox Recovery Project instead of TWRP and try again.
