If nothing works, I would try to flash an official rom version via Miflash without relocking the BL and from there try to flash xiaomi.eu again the way you did.

Thank you Pakino2004 for your reply and tips. I will try another pc. Not using TWRP because it's buggy (found out from the many forums about it). And yes, had the latest ADB tools installed (downloaded them today).

Do u use latest adb tools? Try another computer. Twrp yes or no. Twrp for peridot is buggy. My 2 cents

Guess what? It must have been a wrong cable in a USB 3.0 port. Changed the USB-cable and put it in a USB 2.0 port (on the same computer) and it flashed flawlessly. Thank you guys for your advise on this problem. So new flashers beware: use a proper USB cable and a USB 2.0 port!

Nah, it sort of worked

(the advised method, and what I did was: I put my phone in fastboot mode. Then simply drag the "macos_install_upgrade.sh" file onto the terminal window and hit enter.),

but lost many apps (thats okay, i can reinstall them) but I can NOT get any Google to work. Google App account, (please sign in, confirm on other devices, (I tried google, authenticator, sms, but no, bc then it stalls.)
I emptied; (dalvik) caches, tried a downgrade of the Google Play app, did a reflash of both twrp, and reinstalled the rom again via fastboot/flash.
I have a feeling its in Google Play, perhaps in password storage?

Any tips on this?
Remaining apps kinda work, but can't update those (or install the missing) bc of the Google 'block/not working'.

Upgrade to HyperOS2 kinda worked/failed.
How do I install a working rom WITH a working google apps/play, WITHOUT wiping my card.
- My data/sdcard with all my files seem intact.
- Titanum Backup, now claims 'no root', so I can't seem to use that now,
- TWRP works, (except the ever dreaded encryption)
- DCIM intact, (and other folders)
- WHATSAPP app sort of intact (lost some days, but other than that, thats okay)

Any suggestions on strategies? (Not on a pc, so solely, terminal commands)...

Just jumping in to say use Swift Backup. Way better alternative.

Titanium Backup hasnt been working for quite a few Android Versions now.
For the first install you have to use the macos_install_and_format_data.sh script
