Is It Safe To Install Miui.eu By Xiaomitools?

Does it really have any advantage?
It supposed to be able to flash ROMs even with the bootloader locked. Is it true?
Does it work with a Xiaomi Mi 8?

There is also the MiFlashPro tool. Is it more "powerful"?

I'd like to use these tools to rescue bricked phones with a EDL cable. But I've read we still need an authentication code and Xiaomi is not providing them anymore.
