Mi 5c Roms, Known Issues And Bug Reporting

It does not work well for anyone, but that's why everything else works, I thought about dev rom.
Than dont write that all work fine, because its not true, somebody read Yours answer, flash this rom and saw that not work..
Even You dont have bug, issue i recommended go to bug section and confirm bugs on miui.com and en.miui.com to help abother users.

With such an approach, having errors while writing that they are not there and not reporting it in the Miui forum will never fix them and You wil have old bugs to EOL mi5c support..

All the problems are already reported on miui.com, just say this is the best rom from all I've had so far, at least ten of them.
Mi5c is a phone for the Chinese market and you expect too much from it, no one has forced you to buy a phone for the Chinese market.

For this phone bug report must be on china forum not on global en.miui.com because its china phone not global.

To fix the problem and fix it, it is not enough to report a bug. To get something started, you need a huge number of confirmations from other users. And, in addition, you have to add the description of the problem, screenshots of the error, logs like for example: bugreport.zip, modem log, AP log, screens from dumb etc.

I dont know what to give you, since you do not want to help solve problems on this phone and additionally lied to other people writing that there are no bugs on rom 8.5.4.0 and you are hurt because the problem will be, and why fix it, after all it is not The problem is, it's a phone under china mobile ...

The same bugs report does not give you the fix to confirm this very large number of people and need to add logs. Writing everything works, you are cheating everyone and hence the problems that all will have until the death of this phone. I know exactly what the phone market is, but with such an approach as yours, no bug will be fixed. You write that everything works in 8.5.4.0 that is, you are lying to all, I'm not surprised that so many bugs since a long time, since users have an approach like yours. You do not really understand when reporting bug something gives and when not.

I write this guides:

http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=954138

http://en.miui.com/thread-1058687-1-1.html

Anyone from this forum read this and do example logs and add to bugreported threads? No one do that...

Okay, you are happy with the rom 8.5.4.0 it's up to him to stay, but do not write nonsense that there everything works, because it's not true.

This thread have in names word bus etc, and You dont write about any bugs, than dont write in this thread..

Are you Smietana on en.miui? I've followed some of those guides while testing out 9.1.2.0 builds with ingbrzy, the bugreport one was really good. Btw I think you're right about the bug confirmation thing, it's good if people post here thier bug and findings but it's even better if they report them to the official en.miui or miui websistes. I'll add those guides to the first post, hopefully more people will be able to report the best way possible:)

Yes. I know that it will be hard to fix many bugs on mi5c because its phone to china and not popular in Europe, but if no one not report bugs, confirm etc, bug stay and They dont fix this issues.

I'll repost here in case somebody missed it (added to the first post). A workaround for the video zoom issue was found by user agus_ongky on en.miui! When the glitch happens tap on the recent menu button (by default on the left of the fingerprint sensor) then tap the back button (on the right instead): video should be back to normal! Here's the source: http://en.miui.com/thread-1098568-1-1.html

Thanks @archmirak for confirming this. The ROM is running just fine as of now. Will keep u posted if I notice anything. Had a question regarding the app vault feature, is this something not available on the global ROM?

What global rom?

Hi archmirak

I think you're the guru when we talk about Mi5c.
I have some questions:
At this moment i'm on the 9.10.14 weekly. Can i simply download the stable 9. directly on the phone and then install from twrp. After install i have to do wipe cache/dalvik?
Another question is about root permission....i'm gonna lose them...if yes i have to install from twrp again?

Last question: i may loose some data doing the upgrade? I don't want to redownload all the apps.

thank you

If you're referring to xiaomi.eu ROM, then it's not available in stable 9.1.2.0 as it was introduced two weeks ago in developer 7.11.2 (and actually wasn't fully working until 7.11.9): I guess it will be available in the next stables. The same goes for stable Global ROMs (which we're sadly missing as the Mi 5c is definitely chinese-market oriented).

Thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate, but I'm pretty much sure the real guru here is @zeork: he has done lots of stuff on official en.miui forum, right here (his nickname there is Smietana): http://en.miui.com/type-122-1031.html
About the update to stable, you should be fine and no data will be lost (beware, always do a backup before just in case!). You can flash it via TWRP, and you're absolutely right about wiping cache/dalvik, that has to be done. I've never tried to get root permission using Magisk (or any other tool), though I've read many posts here on the forum where people have confirmed that you'll be losing them, so you'll have to repeat any procedure you did to obtain them the first time.

What global rom?

Sorry @zeork, I didnt mean global ROM for Mi5C, as I know there doesn't exist one. Thanks for the all the good work you guys are doing here, helps people like me to get a stable 'Global-like' ROM for this phone,

What I meant by Global ROM was, the app-vault is it available in any Global ROM for any other devices?

Hope this clears the misunderstanding :)

Thanks again @archmirak, will keep an eye for it. Till then enjoying this one.

Sunit, what is the battery life compared to 8.5.4?

Hi @Josipa, I haven't specifically tested the battery, but for regular use for me(calling, playing odd games, browsing, etc) it has been alright. Will let u know if I do find it draining quickly. As of now it has been fine.

Guys may I ask you if we could keep track of how well your battery is doing under MIUI 9 (stable/weekly)?
I think this could help lots of people deciding whether they should go for one or the other.

If anybody missed it, apparently since closed beta 7.11.20/21/22 a new notification issue has surfaced: basically notifications do not appear at all, only sound, vibration and led. From what I've read, @zeork reported that Mi 5c apparently is not affected by such issue. Though there's the risk that we might skip this weekly release (on all devices) if this thing does not get fixed pretty soon. If you'd like to confirm the bug, go over here: http://www.miui.com/thread-11267561-1-1.html
