Mi5 Gps My Fix Story

I'm also happy mi5 owner that had GPS problem.
I flashed different roms and nothing helped.
so finaly I got it working by doing those steps

1. do a local backup
2. flash LATEST Android 6.0 release for MI5 6.11.10
3. do a factory reset
4. start up and install gps toolbox from playstore.
5. go outside and test gps signal. I got fix in couple seconds and showed me 21 satellite where previous with Nougat I had only 15 and no fix.
6. reboot in recowery and install latest 7.1.12 rom .I used ******** without wiping anything.
7. start up and test gpsfix .Now for me it worked as on android6.
8. do a backup restore.
9. be happy

Even if this works it sucks that we are forced to do that. I don't want to wipe my phone, I want working GPS in next ROM update...

When you installed the 6.11.10 ROM did you wipe cache,dalvik and data?

Confirmed working
I have followed the instructions and GPS is working fine now

Detail:
Step 2: I wiped every thing before Step 2 (dalvik, data as well), then mounted the Data as usb and copied the 6.11.10 zip file
Step 6: I flashed the 7.1.19

I have used a simply app and seems to work.
The app is GPS Status & Toolbox. The app clean and apply appropriate GPS settings and after that the fixing is fast. Tested only one time yesterday, but I think that it works always (the cleaning and the download of the GPS settings must be performed only one time, not all the times that you use gps).

It worked, reception/quickness to lock/accuracy is still worse than my old oneplus 2, however, it's still better than not getting any gps lock.

Sorry for re floating thread, I updated to 7.4.20 after having to wait around three minutes to locate and fix on 7.2.16 and seems it has been solved entirely, getting fixes ~15 secs

I have done the process to 7.4.27, GPS is aceptable but far from good, constantly losing an regaining signal, on the 6.11.10 I get faster fixes and more precision 3-6m compared to 12-20, also on 7.4.27 have BT issues, cant keep connected to mi car, so Im going back to 6.11.10 an see what happens.

I am using 8.1.6.0 - last Marshmallow stable and gps is super fast - (6.11.10 does have some bugs - like panoramic camera not working and long press menu not remembering its default ie google)

Hi everyone I found fix for my and our Mi5 /Pro
I test some frameworks and i found two where GPS and Google Play work well
First and second ROM is older
- miui_MI5Global_6.8.25_5a9ebd9518_6.0.zip - Android 6.0 - GPS , Google Play and Voice in camera too works well!
- miui_MI5Global_6.9.8_d5849bd9c9_6.0.zip - Android 6.0 - I'm don't check this ,but someone tell it work.
- miui_MI5Global_V8.2.2.0.NAAMIEB-b03a4b93ba_7.0.zip (Stable) - Android 7.0 - GPS ,GP and voice in camera don't work...
- xiaomi.eu_multi_MI5_7.5.25_v8-7.0.zip - Android 7.0 - MIUI 8.3 by xiaomi.eu - I'm already use this ROM and GPS ,GP works well but voice from Original Camera App is in very low quality.. but I use CameraMX to recording videos ,and voice is in very good quality.
