Regarding the dist folder and the APK in it, this is the unsigned new built app, it contains exactly the same as the <apk>/built/apk folder. It means (although I have never tried it yet) that copying the META-INF folder and AndroidManifest.xml (not 100% sure about this one) from the original APK into it should do the same trick as moving the resources.arsc and whatever was changed within the RES folder from the built app into the original one. Hope I explained myself clearly... LOL
The signature is actually in the META-INF folder on the original APK, that's actually the reason you need to move the files back to the original APK. I don't believe you can actually sign a system app as it needs a special system signature, I'm not so sure about this one but I've tried before signing one and it just FCed.

I'm not even going to mess with this, but from reading this is very excellent.

Good, good work.

Hi gions93,
I don't know how APK edit works, but normally you should copy the resources.arsc from the compiled APK into the original APK and then flash the original one. Have you done that?

Did you use the original apk (with original signature) with new resources.arsc and other translated files?

Not sure if it's the right place to ask this, but I'm stuck at something that is really annoying me.

I was able to translate the whole system to my language (Brazilian Portuguese), but I still get one text showing in chinese: the default folder "tools" created in the desktop.

Since I'm out of ideas of what I need to change for it to work, can anyone point me into the right direction?

Thanks!

I tried that, Mark. I even replaced from the other languages to be safe, reinstalled the whole firmware, wiped the dalvik-cache and data files, and still shows me the chinese characters.
what folder are you putting it in? values-xx where xx is your locale? also is your build.prop set correctly for the packs language locales?

Hi Mark,

I've thought of you is a man of MIUI Android and the English translation. I will translate into Danish, but I need help, how to start?

1st Do I need to contact MIUI and ask them whether it is okay?
2nd If I have made the translation, it can be a part of your package?
3rd As I understand your tread, and I will take each APK out and translate it?
4 Would you help me make the menu so it is possible to choose Danish as a language?

I'm not new to translate.

Thanks in advance

Gert.

MIUI 1.18.11

Hi,

don't know if this is the right place to report this but...

I installed MIUI 1st time on a Galaxy SII.
I find the ROM fantastic!

However, I get a constantly running process at about 13% which is com.android.telocation.
This is a fully wiped pure install of the ROM with no other apps or even google accounts.
I only installed some monitoring apps to find out who is using the CPU.
So "Android System" (NOT "Android OS") shows big battery consumption.
Anyone else seeing the same?
(I also tried Galnet version and that has a similar issue but not on the same process!)

Also another brain twister: when I 1st installed the ROM it said 1.5Ghz.
I installed SetCPU and tried 1.6 as it detected it.
I had some crashes I wanted to go back to 1.5Ghz.
SetCPU does not see it as a valid setting.
I reinstalled many times but it never ever again said 1.5G.
It always says 1.2G.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hey Admins,
please release your APK Tool. The German community got no updates on ICS Roms for a long time now and we won't get any new until we can fix the tool but we fail all the time (there are no real programmers).
