That's because the s2 is based on the samsung stock firmware and not cm9. I can't see this changing any time soon.

There are MIUI roms based on cm9 (i think one is called cMIUI) with which you will get the magnifying glass, but you lose some features of this ROM (tv out, fm radio, general stability)

Miui release updates every week but their ROM still lagging on gnex. Idk about other phones though it was a beast on my droid 1.

If you want faster or more accurate GPS you have to download Fasterfix from Google Play and do your thing!

Hmm i dont think general stability is an issue (obviously CM9 is better than samsung stocks) i've used cmiui more than a week.. it's very compact and fast.
