Preview MIUI ROM 2.9.7 Changelog (preview)

This weeks recommended updates:

1. New automatic call recording function
You can select multiple numbers to automatically record when making / receieving calls

2. New Lock screen misuse prevention mode
If you have your phone in your trouser pocket, often you may find your phone functions due to not being locked. The proximity sensor will judge any misuse based on distance / covering of sensor. The aim is to prevent phone misuse when loose in pocket.

3. MIUI Video player updates
Added new video decoder version to improve the range of supported video formats and in addition improve playback smoothness. Also added this week, screenshot capture function, full-screen playback, orientation lock (rotate). Due to hardware limitations at present the MI-ONE will receieve the update first this week, closely followed by other devices.

Other:

• i.xiaomi.com support to retrieve phone functions, track and control of your MIUI phone system (Possibly China only)
• i.xiaomi.com support to delete, re-upload / download photos
• Another new Free MiHome theme coming this week as well

Full changes will be posted on Friday as normal.

on your phone, open Phone app.

Enter:

*#*#284#*#*

This will generate a debug log, /sdcard/MIUI/debug_logs/

the file will end in .log

Please upload this for me.

Please let MIUI know that the settings menu in the SGS III (specific to the device) contains functions that do NOT WORK: Smart Stay and Samsung Lockscreen.

It would be awesome if they did, but they don't. Tested on last 2 roms.

3. When i try to End a Call from the headset button, dont work. Anwser works normally. This appear since 2.6.29.

5. SGS2 - i9100. In many networks stay in status "connecting". reboot device sometimes fix the bug,

I do the *#*#284#*#* instruction, but dont appear the \debug_logs folder inside \MIUI.

Hi Admin,

I am now using MIUI 2.8.31 on my Huawei honor, just found out below bugs:
1. Bluetooth not working.
2. Orange border found in some place on screen.
3. When battery drains out and goes off, then plug to charger, then it boots to recovery.
4. Please free up more memory, got only average 90MB.
5. Sync not functioning.

I am sorry but the minimum requirements for beeing taken seriously is to use at least 46 exclamation marks, you however only used 45. Maby next time?

No it's not all whatsapp faults. Because not only Whatsapp have that problem. Even GTD task app can't select notification sound. And I've never this problem on other JB ROM (tried AOKP, CM10, Codename, Paranoid, and other AOSP based ROM). It must be the MIUI ringtone picker code faulty that makes the notification picker open Themes instead of media picker.. Hope my feedback is clear enough.. Thanks

I can confirm that Samsung Lockscreen *does* work, including the ripple effect. A reboot is required after selecting the option. It has been confirmed by others over at xda as well. I haven't tested Smart Stay.

Smart Stay isn't working at night since there is not much to "see" via the hardware camera. I mean the commercial where the phone "waits" till you fall asleep is only a theory, not reality... anyway, personally I think this is useless and only drains more battery out of your device.

Sometimes a new base means taking 10 steps back. Sometimes the bugs are with how the overlay of MIUI works. So if you change a base there could be new errors.

Ibotpeaches, please at least react to me how can I solve this or let me know if there's a chance of this fix from miui devs or from miui android. I am very sure it's miui problem because I've been using whatsapp for a year and flashed every ROM from xda-devs and never have this issue..

Actually WhatsApp uses a structure that will work fine on other ROMs due to the fact they don't have an advance theme manager, but due to the fact they use the "all" attribute instead of "notification" it triggers as a theme instead of a notification and doesn't allow the change.

So this means it will always remain like this in miui rom? every 3rd party app that made like whatsapp won't work in miui due to miui's theme engine, and will always remain unsolvable? So, can u provide me a tutorial to modify the apps that can't work? because not only whatsapp, but my GTD is also have this problem. Thanks
