I have spoken to some of the dev team and apparently there is no framework changes to 2.1.6 so the 1.12.30 mod is OK to use.

On 2.1.13 ever since MIUI added the ability to view the status bar in full screen there is quite a display error while viewing the lockscreen with this modification.

They changed the framework a little so had to modify how it's done. Works fine on Desire port, should work fine on other phones.

my status bar looks awful in lock screen

Yes, that seems to be because of the changes MIUI did to the status bar. Seems like we have to wait for Roenano to fix it.
