(NEW) Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro -- ROM update

how can i see if bootloader is unlocked ?
and how can i unlock bootloader ?

How You can see bootloader status:
Through the PC on Windows: first the phone should be booted in fastboot mode (power button + volume down key) - to do this, connect your gadget to the computer - on the PC, press Win + R - enter "cmd" - in the command line write " adb "- press Enter - enter" fastboot oem device-info ". The screen displays information about the status of the bootloader check.

(But RM6Pro have LOCKED bootloader 100%.)

To unlock Bootloader:
1. Register your xiaomi account.
2. In the smartphone go to Settings-About smartphone - All specs.
3. TAP several times on the miui version before the appearance of the inscription, "You became a developer".
4. Go to Settings - Advanced settings - Developer Options - MiUnlock Status.

5. Tap to button to associate Your Mi account with smartphone.
6. Go to http://en.miui.com/unlock/ and log in to Your Mi Account and download MI Unlock utility.
7. Install that and log in to mi account and following instructions.
8. Start Your smartphone to Fastboot mode (Pow+ Vol down) and connect to PC via USB cable.
9. Press UNLOCK button in MI Unlock utility.

Most likely you will have to wait 360 hours before You allowing the bootloader to unlock.
Just wait...

After that again try to unlock the bootloader in utility.

If You see this - bootloader Unlocked!

Indeed, we are not trying to unlock the phone. We have a 360 hours waiting time. Is that possible? That's nuts.

Sorry Guys, but redmi 6 pro, isn't the same device as redmi pro is it ? So you'r off topic here, maybe usefull for redmi pro users who wants to flash rom

Dear @ovpshka

I followed all the steps but stuck in the 3rd.
  1. Download the RAR File i´ve attched.
    • OK
  2. Copy the 2 Files into your ADB Folder on your Computer.
    • OK
  3. Open flash_twrp.bat (Fastboot Mode)
    • I'm stuck here. Please check the screenshot.
      • As I can see in the flash_twrp.bat file the script does the following:
        • @echo off
          fastboot devices
          pause
          fastboot erase recovery
          fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
          fastboot boot twrp.img

          pause
        • Everything is in the same folder (twrp.img and flash_twrp.bat). What's the problem? It's just stuck here. "Waiting for any device" but the device is detected. What's wrong?

  5. n Recovery make a Factory Reset
    • OK
  6. Install the Rom
    • OK
  7. When it´s Finish press restart
    • OK
  8. After the Boot into Recovery, hold the Power Button for a few Seconds for a Complete Restart.
    • OK

Install From Sdcard or Flash via OTG.
But you can format the Data in TWRP, reboot the smartphone to system, make the initial setup, after copying the firmware file into the smartphone's memory, reboot into the twrp recovery and flash it from the internal memory.

Hello everybody,

I have a problem. I bought the Redmi 6 pro with the Chinese standard ROM.

After that I unlocked the bootloader. The xiaomi.eu ROM is copied to an SD card.
From the ADB (Android Debug Bridge) installed TRWB and then the on the SD card
as ZIP file xiaomi.eu ROM installed.

The installation went through so far and at the end came a mask where I the password
to Should enter decryption of the data partition. Since I do not have a password for this
partition, I have the TRWB by a long press on the on / off button, in the hope leaving the
phone then boots with the newly installed xiaomi.eu ROM.

Now I have the problem that the phone does not start anymore. No matter if I'm short or
long on the Press key, the mobile phone does not respond. I do not come to TRWB either.
When I over the phone The USB cable connected to the computer flashes only the
notification LED in the phone. Otherwise no reaction.

Could it be that I get out of recovery before installing the xiaomi.eu ROM 'Factory Reset'
should have done?

Can I just use the Redmi 6 Pro as a paperweight now, or can someone help me? give a hint
how I can revive the smartphone. I hope for your support.

P.S. It is an automatic translation of the German language.

Greetings Jürgen

So basically, correct me if I'm wrong:

1. Apply for bootloader unlock
2. Activate Debug options + Allow usb debug
3. Bind the account to the device
4. Wait 360 Hours (2 weeks)
5. Download the files you attached
6. Run the Fastboot unlocker
7. Download ADB
8. Place the files downloaded in the adb directory
9. Open a terminal in that directory (Shift + Right Click, Open new Terminal here)
10. Run flash_twrp.bat
11. Put the ROM you want to install in the SDCard
12. If the SDCard is not in the phone put it
13. In the PC, open terminal 'adb reboot recovery'
14. In the Phone Factory rest
15. Install ROM
16. Restar the Phone

Is this correct?

Formda belirttiğiniz şeyi uygularım. fakat yeni miami 10'u kurduktan sonra QdLoader 9008 moduna takıldı. Açılmamış cihaz

Dont do it instruction if you upgrade firmware to 9.6.16 or higher - you get a brick.
search method by testpoint.

Looks like device in EDL mode already, at least i can see QDLoader 9008 in device manager and device visible in MiFlash tool. But iam unsuccessful with flashing, i've got "can not read from port COM4" when hitting "flash".
Tried MiFlash versions: 2017.4.25.0, 2018.5.28.0
ROM: sakura_images_V9.6.7.0.ODICNFD_20180607.0000.00_8.1_cn_9ba9fb2433

Update:
Tried latest MiFlash v2018.5.28 and latest China ROM sakura_images_V9.6.17.0.ODICNFD_20180727.0000.00_8.1_cn_b88299eef8. Now MiFlash ask for MI account authorisation, and when logging in MiFlash gives: You are not authorized to Download!!!
I have no more ideas, how to unbrick it :(

Hello everyone, my question is if with this ROM update can I use it with my service provider in Mexico, or is this independent of ROM? I've already checked in myphonewill ...

Hi friends.

We have a serious problem with this issue, this bad news has just been known 4 days ago (source: gizmochina.com):

"Xiaomi activates anti-rollback feature for Redmi 6 Pro and Mi 6X latest MIUI 10 versions".

"It was reported recently that Xiaomi had introduced the anti-rollback feature to Redmi 6 Pro models running MIUI 10 China Development ROM version 8.7.30 as well as models running the Stable ROM version 9.6.16 and above. Xiaomi has now announced the anti-rollback feature will now apply to Mi 6X models running MIUI 10 China Development ROM version 8.8.6 as well as models running the Stable ROM version 9.6.4.0 and above. The anti-rollback feature means users will no longer be able to downgrade their MIUI versions to older versions after the update.

According to the press release by Xiaomi on the MIUI Community forum, the new feature is to maintain system stability and ensure the security of the models. It is important to note if you own any of the two models that you will no longer be able to downgrade to earlier versions after the update as this could brick the device and render it useless.

However, if your model hasn’t been updated to any of the versions listed, then you can still use the rollback feature."

Hello everyone,

Is the Global ROM for Xiaomi 6 Pro Stable? I have tried to find it but I could't find it on the release list. I see you shared the documents here, but I'm not sure if it is the stable. I found the developer version, but since I want this for my family who is not experts (it doesn't mean I am, but at least more into it), I would prefer a stable version.

Also, this might be a silly question, but ones it is installed; will it update by itself with the gobal version, or each time we have to update manually?

Thanks

Soooo, now what?
I've bought a Redmi 6 Pro 2 weeks ago, finally was able to unlock it, but has 9.6.17.0 installed... Would like to install the latest EU build 8.8.9.. But obviously wouldn't want to brick my device..

Wich leads me to the ultimate question... Can I install this version? If not, then what? If yes, then how?

I think @ovpshka is the only one that can answer. I'm on the very last stage but I'm seriously concerned my Xiaomi 6 Pro will get bricked.
Kindly find below a video of the very last step... don't yet know why is not working. Will it get bricked?

How do I know, once I'm in TWRP and flashed, which MIUI version I had on my phone?

As all the MIUI builds which are released after Stable MIUI V9.5.17.0 and Beta MIUI V8.7.5 include "Anti-Rollback" (including Chinese version) how do I know if I have it. On the other hand, how to know if my device is affected by it?

fastboot getvar anti

As I'm in TWRP it seems I cannot run this command, right?

Cheers

What version of the Xiaomi Stable ROM do you currently have?
If this is 9.6.6.0 or 9.6.7.0, then if you have twrp installed on your device, then simply install xiaomi.eu ROM wia twrp. (8.7.19 (or 26)).
(Do not recomend )

If your version of Stable ROM is higher than 9.6.7.0 Try This. (google translate needed)

Well, the last recommendation :)
I do not recommend to flash 8.8.9 yet because it is buggy.
8.8.3 works fine
