Hello everyone !

I just have a few questions :
What is TWRP ? Why do I need to install it on my phone before flashing EU ROM ? How do I install it ?
Do I need Magisk and SafetyNet to get google pay and Netflix working ?
To make it simple, I need to able to use google pay and apps such as Netflix to work with a EU ROM, is it possible ?

Thanks in advance for your replies and time !

TWRP make it easier to install a ROM (or some mods), instead of specialised software on your computer, you just reboot your phone in TWRP, and it gives you an interface to install your package (and format partitions, etc)

It is needed because the ROM is usually delivered in such a zipped package. It also enable the ROM to be updated on the go.

The How is explained in the Stable / Weekly thread, or in the specific model thread.

Safetynet is the security system created by Google. It is mean to prevent some software installation on modified / rooted phone.

Anyway most EU ROMs come natively with workarounds, you don't need Magisk to make Safetynet work.

Last month, Google modified Safetynet, and it broke it for a lot of people. Here Magisk helped put together a temporary solution.

Thanks for your reply !

So TWRP and safetynet needs to be install before the ROM ? Or at the same time ? Sorry, I'm a bit lost in all these TWRP, ROM and safetynet stuff... I need to wait 5 more days to have my phone unlocked, will safetynet be running okay until then ? Or will I need to install magisk ?

For TWRP... It depends. For most devices you need to install it before the ROM. For some others, you need to start it from your computer, and than install the ROM. For a few others, there is no TWRP, so you have to fully Install from your computer.

Again, the How-to is explained in the ROM threads, or your specific device forum if needed. It is explained by people a lot more competent than I am, and with a lot more details.

Safetynet is part of Google services. You don't have to care about it, until it doesn't work.

Magisk, if you don't have a specific reason, you don't need it.

TLDR : Backup your data before the unlock and just follow the instructions.

Hello!
So you say that Magisk isn't needed for gogle services on xiaomi.eu? Can I install it whenever I want if I have a problem with any app?
Thanks ;)

Yes, it is not needed. You can install it, but I don't have any details, I don't use it.
