Turn off MIUI Optimization without facing known issues?

Hi guys,

Right now I am using Mi 9 but switching to Mi 11 Pro in the next days.
With stock ROM I couldn't deactivate MIUI Optimization because after that I was facing the error that I could not open PDF files in Gmail or Whatsapp anymore.
Is this error still existing in MIUI 14 or 13?
I would like to disable MIUI Optimization because it's annoying after some idle time that apps have to reload by losing my inputs.

Why doesn't it make any difference when I lock app in task manager and deactivating background activities after 10 mins? After that it should prevent losing information in idle, isn't it?
