Hello to all forum members
After the latest firmware update my Mi Smart P1 43” LED 4K TV (l43m6-6aeu) randomly started displaying the following message:
HDMI connection lost
As I said, it's a random problem... The TV can be on for hours without any problem and sometimes, after an hour, the message appears (and, of course, there's no image or sound).
The solution is to turn it off and on again... and things go back to normal.
I've tried the obvious solutions... A new HDMI cable (of good quality). I've tried different HDMI connectors. I've tried a different video source.
The problem remains.
Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help

I have the same problem, after androidTV update. P1 43'' Don't know who to fix it, or hope for some update that solves it.

Same on a 50". Since the last update this Saturday, a lot of lost ( no signal HDMI ). The signal are still present ( the sound work thought my sound bar in he same HDMI ( between tv and my Nvidia shield ) but, the signal was lost at the tv. I have to switch the input to an another HDMI ( input tv or HDMI 1 ) and come back to the HDMI ( HDMI 2 ) where my box is connected with the sound bar and the video signal work again. Try different mode HDMI Without success. How to downgrade the rom of the tv ?
Hope that Xiaomi will solve this issue..

I sent an email to Xiaomi Support.Global, and here is the answer:

Dear Vasco,
Hello, Greetings from Xiaomi Customer Support! This is Lydia.
We at Xiaomi value your trust and we apologize for the inconvenience. Rest assured that we'll assist you on this. And we would be grateful if you could share your country/region with us.
According to your description, please refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Please connect a different device to the HDMI port to determine if the issue lies with the TV or the HDMI port.
2. Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the TV and the device. Trying a different HDMI cable can also help rule out cable issues.
3. Turn off both the TV and the connected device, unplug the TV from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. Reboot the connected device as well.
4. Check the HDMI port on the TV for any physical damage or debris that might obstruct the connection.
5. If the above methods do not resolve the issue, consider resetting your TV to factory defaults by going to [Settings] > [Device Preferences] > [Reset]. Please note that this will erase all settings and data on your TV.
We hope the above information helps you.
Best Regards

It doesn't help much :-( because I've tried all the steps except number 5. And if I do that step, a lot of work will have to be done afterwards.
Maybe if more customers complain Xiaomi will take action.

I don't think they're going to do anything, all we'll have to do is wait or, if the problem persists, change the TV, but I'll continue to bombard them with emails.

I contacted support here in Portugal by phone and they also said they would say something.

still with the same problem, any news if the problem persists? I'm really thinking about selling the TV and buying a new one.

Hello sakota. After the blackout last Monday the problem disappeared. At least for now... I hope it doesn't come back

Hi, I had this same problem since the update. After trying everything else, new cable included, it seems I got rid of it setting the HDMI mode to 2.0. With 2.1 HDMI mode the TV kept losing the HDMI signal at random times. I haven't had that problem since I changed the setting a few days ago.

UPDATE: Enabling HDR on the source brought back the problem. Also in HDR mode there is a lot of noise in the image, like the data struggles to be processed. In HDMI mode 2.0 and HDR disabled for the momento I had no random disconnections. It sucks because I paid for all the functionality of the TV and it was working flawlessly until the update, but it may be a workaround while waiting for an update (which I think it will never come at this point). If some of you knows how to roll back to the previous firmware on the TV, please let me know.

I have the same TV and the same problem since the update to version 11. I have contact them and all I've been told is to send the TV to the technical service. Has anyone manage to solve it yet?

Hi again. Unfortunately the "solution" above turned out not to solve the issue and the HDMI continued disconnecting at completely random times. It's strange because the TV seems to understand that's still connected but the signal is lost. Anyway, I found a definitive solution: a way to roll back to the previous Android 10 firmware. It worked for me and since the downgrade the problem is solved. As the only use for the TV is being a PC monitor, I don't care about any other functionality added of fix implemented in the latest updates, I just want the TV not to lose HDMI signal.

If you found it helpful and you can afford it, please consider donating something on Paypal (thank you, it will help me a lot, I'm completely broke) -> Link

Here's how to do it:

ATTENTION - THIS SOLUTION IS ONLY FOR THE MODELS P1 43, 50, 55", Q1E 55", Q1 75" (Device Model: MOOQ0 (croods))
I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT YOU CAN CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

*** DO NOT USE WITH THE P1 32" MODEL! ***

- Download the firmware (Version 5135 - Android 10): https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/0a20356c2d2b8a82b979b213c9d214a1c4cbb8ef.zip
- Put the zip file in a FAT32 formatted USB key. The USB key doesn't need to be empty, just put the file in the root folder.
- Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power.
- Plug the USB key in the Upper USB port on the TV (USB port n. 2).
- Push and keep pushing the OK (the central round key) and the BACK (⇽) button.
- Without releasing the remote keys, plug the TV to the power and wait for the Recovery Screen to appear. Do not release the keys until the Recovery Screen appears (if you're unable to enter recovery mode this way, read the alternative method below).
- In the Recovery menu select "Update from uDisk" and select the zip you previously put in the USB key.
- Wait for the update/downgrade to complete (do not unplug or turn off the TV in the meanwhile. Only if the installation is stuck for more than 15/20 minutes, then turn off and on the TV again using the remote and the installation will continue).
- Select "Wipe data / Factory Reset" in the Recovery menu.
- Select "Reboot system now".

Your TV will reboot in a brand new Android 10 installation.

If you want to update the TV manually again, you can follow the above procedure with those firmwares:
Version 7981 (Android 11): https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/1146b7e200a76962997d313754f8de62fe6a6a39.zip
Version 8313 (Android 11): https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota-api/package/8d73877d01d01c5f746905ef4c2f60b4b2bb7c15.zip

ALTERNATIVE METHOD TO ENTER RECOVERY MODE
If the previously described method to enter recovery mode doesn't work for you, there is another way to do it using a Windows PC connected to the same LAN/Wi-Fi. Go here -> https://xdaforums.com/t/tool-all-in-one-tool-for-windows-android-tv-tools-v4.4648239/ and download the Android TV Tools V4. Follow the instructions on the site to install it and connect it to the TV. Once installed and connected to the TV, select 7, then X, then 10, then 2. The TV will reboot into Recovery Mode and you can then follow the above instructions to install a new firmware.

I hope it helps. I will keep monitoring this to help further.
