My POCO F6 just arrived yesterday, but I am facing a certain issue.

My Wi-Fi keeps getting disconnected from my router, a Vodafone Station, on the 5GHz band. The period of times it works, it acts and loads with a weird delay, before it loads content from the internet.

It works fine on the 2.4GHz band or when I use my previous device, a POCO F3, as a hotspot, even on its 5GHz band. The logs on my router show that DEAUTH and DISASSOCIATION events are happening constantly.

I can't tell if it's an issue with my phone or my router. I also purchased a Redmi Pad Pro, which couldn't find the 5GHz SSID on its own, but it works fine when manually connected. May this issue resolves once I switch to Xiaomi.EU ROMs which is my next goal to test, but it takes another 50 hours to unlock my bootloader.

EDIT: Collected some logs from logcat - might help (censored mac addresses)
logcat -s wpa_supplicant & logcat -d | grep wlan0

I just registered to report that I have the same issue with my Poco F6 and the Vodafone router.

It keep disconnecting from 5G signal sent by Vodafone Router, 2.4G however works just fine.

Also 5G hotspot given by my Samsung S24 Ultra also works just fine.

What gives ?

I confirm that I have exactly the same issue. My POCO F6 doesn't connect to my 5GHz Wi-Fi ac Netgear router.
No problem with my old POCO F3.

There is obviously a bug in the Wi-Fi client of that device.

I found a workaround to this problem. I purchased a Wi-Fi Repeater, and now I no longer get disconnected. Instead, I switch between the two access points without losing signal, which can be annoying when I'm doing something online.

EDIT: In the meantime, I flashed the Xiaomi.EU ROM, but unfortunately, it also didn't fix the issue. Perhaps, with some luck, Xiaomi will address this issue in future updates. However, AFAIK, Xiaomi isn't known for readily resolving software issues. My guess is that this might be a European phenomenon, it may be affecting only users in Europe with different standards compared to China. It's possible that Xiaomi doesn't prioritize fixing issues that don't impact the Chinese market. Additional may its not a software issue, perhaps a hardware problem.

I also kinda used a workaround by buying a separate router (TP Link Archer X53) and turn off the faulty wifi.

I can confirm the issue with Poco F6 Pro. I don't see it disconnecting, but did not look into the logs. I just have seen a massive slowdown to about 1MBit/s even with the device being connected with more then 1GBit/s to the router on wifi5. I have had two devices with the issue and have them returned for now as I cannot wait if they are able to fix it or not. Of course a F3 and other devices don't have any issues. Both devices were with european ROM version 1.0.3.0 (was upadetd) and 1.0.2.0 (factory). As you mention that you have seen the issue with the xiaomi.eu ROM also, does that mean that this might even be a HW issue? I know that this is speculation, but any chnace that it will be fixed in xiaomi.eu or any custom ROM? The devices are really good, but useless with broken wifi. When this is fixed or fixable I would reorder.

Hi,
I just got my phone (F6) yesterday and I'm afraid that I happen to have the same problem with the wifi. Very annoying! How likely is it, that poco will bring out an update in the next weeks that will solve it? Otherwise I'm tempted to return the phone because basic functions like a stable wifi connection should definitely work on a new phone and I don't want to experiment with my router just to get my phone working on a much slower (!) connection (2,4 ghz) than it should have. This is a major downside.
I've also written a ticket at mi.com but they haven't responded yet.
Anyone here knows a better fix to the wifi problem than to change settings for the router? Is there any setting for the phone itself that could fix it?
Are you returning your F6/F6 Pro or are you keeping it?

Hi all, I have received my F6 yesterday, and I can confirm that I have no issues within 24/h of usage on 5GHz band, I have a Nokia AP and nothing shown up till now. To be cleared that I'm still on Global Rom as I haven't unlock it yet, waiting the que to be accepted for unlock. Hope this kind of help for this case.

I have refunded my device now. I couldn't bare it might never get fixed. Also, to clarify this a bit. Seemingly, the 5Ghz band on the phone seem not to work stable on a certain Router models. In Germany, it seems its the Vodafone Station delivered by my ISP provider. And I didn't wont to spend another 100 Euros to try fixing this issue somehow. It might be other routers affected by this.

sorry to hear that u refunded your Poco. Anyway if there is no other solutions to this case, I think your ok with our finances but think a little bit around, if there is a router fault?... you are forced to change mobile devices according to their cheap solution devices ?!
Hope you find your best ;)

F6 on xiaomi.eu latest. I run a wifi6 router + WiFi 5ghz wired ap for my room. It really sticks to the WiFi 6 instead and doesn't connect to the 5ghz one despite it has a better strength. Have to wait for an update from Poco on this one soon.

Edit: under WiFi additional settings I changed the WiFi region from automatic to my country. Rebooted and it seems to be working so far. It's sticking to the stronger 5ghz band AP instead of the weaker wifi6 band. Others might try and report their findings.

Future me, If your household has wifi 6 & wifi 5 (as i have two APs), it tends to stick to wifi6 very often. While not confirmed, changing the wifi 6's security authenthication from WPA3 to WPA2, AES Algo, changing the channel width of my 5ghz to 40mhz did somewhat "fix" it. but it still not a complete solution. just for those who have this issue
