Hello everyone!

I'm not that happy with my 12S Ultra camera quality. Most pictures turn out blurry in the gallery even if they look good and focused while taking it. Also it seems to me that it's pretty hard to nail a decent photo, something that was easy enough with my last phone, a Redmi Note 10 Pro. I've attached a few examples taken with my phone. I believe that a phone that costs this much and which assumes a great camera should have a way better quality to be honest.

So how do you all feel about your 12S Ultra? Any answer or reply is greatly appreciated.

you are taking closeup picture, it will auto change to wide angle camera instead of using main 1" sensor

I agree that those photos are taken with the telephoto sensor, but still it should be better. I don't remember to have encountered this issue with any other phone. Also, when the sensor switches from main to telephoto the difference in color tone and zoom level is so noticeable. Is this normal for a flagship phone?

Well don't get me wrong, I do have some beautiful shots, like few photos of my chameleon with incredible detail and extremely clear zoom levels. Those are magnificient! But it's not really point and shoot, it's usually one in 6-7 photos and I have to struggle to focus it manually, be still, and have the proper light. Also, it seems photos taken in apps like Instagram, or Messenger especially, are blurred and low res like I'm moving my hand a lot when I'm actually standing still. I've tried to take the photo of a document yesterday while in the Messenger app and I just couldn't make the writing readable, it was always smudged. I guess the latter has to do more with the different apps, maybe they're not that compatible with the new sensor or something.

I've found that the issue is with auto mode and the phone choosing to do a slow shutter speed of 1/25 even with half decent light. . This is too slow and result in blurry shots, compared to my pixel 7 that would use 1/50 in the same shot. I now use Pro mode with 1/100 on kids and subjects.

I got my 12S Ultra a couple of months ago. Being a photographer by profession and by heart, naturally, I've been taking photos all the time. I will attach a few, to show my passion, desire and working hard to achieve the outcomes which I desire. I find the 12S Ultra a marvellous camera. Sorry if I disappoint.

Marvelous, pictures are stock ? Shooting in raw or jpeg ?
Thank you, Gui3gui2, for your kind words on the photos. The B&W image was taken with the 35mm, B&W, portrait camera feature. The cat image I took with the 'normal' lens option. The third photo, the selfie, I took in portrait mode. These photos I took over the last few days. This phone surely has the best camera/lens I have ever had in any of my phones. You can see heaps more photos on my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/birgit_krippner/

Hello. I agree. I have had my 12S ultra for 4 weeks now, I bought for the good camera, but my 11 Ultra take better photos in most of the times.
In portrett mode 12S Ultra is better. I tought it was some wrong with the camera on my phone, I hope for a program upgrade for the camera soon .

I agree, the camera on the ultra 11 always seemed much more consistent in quality

I have the 11 Ultra and the 12s Ultra. I prefer as quality what did by the 11 Ultra
