Xiaomi 12S Ultra Xiaomi.EU Rom Support

Xiaomi 12S Ultra is on the way to our hands..
We will have to wait for delivery, bootloader unlock and debugging of our ROM...
It will take some weeks for release..

Again big thank you for all donations which made this to happen!
We have never seen such users support for any other device!

Hi @ingbrzy , loved your ROM on my xm10 ultra. Just out of curiosity, if xiaomi does not officially have a global version of xm12s ultra (let alone gms support) , how do you actually work your magic to get it the "device certified" with Google? I have been wondering this for the longest time, would appreciate if you could enlighten me with this :) if it's too complicated to explain, just ignore me. Either way, thanks for your work and i can't wait to get my hand on one!

it comes with google play store installed.
That's very interesting, my previous xiaomi phone bought directly from China has none of this due to obvious reason. Since when does Xiaomi allow GMS/Playstore pre-installed in their phone? Was the phone packaging fully sealed in original condition? Where do you buy it from, giztop? Are you sure that the Google Playstore and support was not installed by the seller prior to shipping?

Because if GMS/Playstore is officially pre-installed by Xiaomi, then user technically does not have to wait for xiaomi.eu ROM and can buy it right away.

Google doesn't really exist in China, thus customers can utilize alternative services in its place instead of having to use Google's. Xiaomi is still allowed by Google. They frequently leave out Google's functions due to battery usage, the government, and the fact that Chinese people don't require Google.

Yes, i understand. But the biggest question now is that, if Google does not exist in China....why does he has Google Playstore and fully functional google service on his phone? Is this done by Xiaomi directly? Or is it pre-installed by seller prior to shipping?

You forget one thing: people use xiaomi.eu not because Google services, but because this rom is developed with additional features and bug fixes. Also people want to use other European languages so waiting for xiaomi.eu is justified.
Of course question regarding Google services are they installed by Xiaomi or seller is quite important and interesting :)

I believe some foreigners working in China or government personnel need to use some Google services.

Google service framework exists in the China ROM so all you need to do is to install the Play store APK and then it "works" (notifications is still a mess but the rest works fine).

Most resellers like giztop, Wondamobile, Tradingshenzhen does this for you before shipping and that is why the seals are broken on the package.

Hi,
I have a very old smartphone and I should try to replace it by the end of the year. I am closely following the evolution of this very interesting 12S Ultra, which I understand is an excellent terminal from several points of view but has a very big limitation: lack of some 4G and 5G bands.
I understand that the 3G / 4G / 5G modem part is managed by the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus chipset, which potentially should be distributed worldwide, so I was wondering why changing the ROM shouldn't be possible to unlock the 4G bands and 5G currently blocked in the Chinese version of the ROM. Thanks in advance for your clarification!

Because the ROM has nothing to do with disabled bands.

Ok, so just to understand ...
That's a hardware limitation of the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus and there is therefore no solution for unlocking the bands 20, 28, etc ..?
Sorry for the question, it's important for me to understand because I am looking for a phone that becomes the main one, I absolutely would not have to move carrying two phones with me.
Without all the bands, coverage outside cities in Europe is severely limited, so I would completely abandon the idea of buying this terminal.

The bandwidth limitation is a hardware limitation by the device manufacturer, which can also be present in other processors.
This limitation cannot be circumvented (made available) by software.

Did I ever say it was a "hardware limitation"? All I said was that it had nothing to do with the ROM.
Don't know how this is correct these days, band information traditionally was stored in the NVRAM (non-volatile RAM) of the device, and with proper knowledge and care could have been modified using the appropriate Qualcomm tools.
Like I said, this is not something that has anything to do with a ROM, and I won't discuss risky modding here. Messing up the NVRAM will make the device unusable, permanently.

I'm... not sure why you're sharing this remark...

Whether it can or cannot be circumvented by software is debatable, but definitely not something we should worry about.
People who buy this device know (or supposed to know) the limitations.

Sure. But so far no one has managed to get the missing bands working using the software on any Xiaomi device.

I remember receiving via DHL before, they like taking arbitrary fees for imaginary services no one ever ordered or agreed to pay for... o.o

After PayPal fees, we reached $1098 which is in the range or the device's price (not including import taxes and shipping, if any).
It's seems you gonna test the device from israel too,
I'm also from israel and would like to know how the bands will work for you here,
In addition if there is needs with application development I would like to help:)

Even without the device in hand yet, I can tell you that all of the standard bands used in Israel are enabled in the Xiaomi 12S series.
Bands 20 and 28 are not used here for 4G, so there won't be any issues.

Does anyone know if Google Pay with NFC will be work?
with Chinese firmware it doesn’t work, now I can't add my mastercard to my wallet on Xiaomi 12s Ultra
with my old phone, the same card works without problems.
Will the issue be resolved in the new EU ROM ? or everyone can be a problem ?
